I was looking for a dress that would fit a tropical wedding without being too boho or casual, a dress that had a bit of an Asian or Indonesian esthetic (our wedding location), something with a bishop sleeve (because I knew I’d be wearing something sleeveless for my rehearsal dress and reception), not a ton of beading, something unique to me… In this case, they also had a bride who would need to do fittings in LA and eventually get her dress to Indonesia for her wedding (my dress would see the world! ). I also had chosen my rehearsal dress pretty early on, and that one was sleeveless, so I just went with sleeves for the ceremony dress! The Bo & Luca team also sent me some earrings of theirs that matched the beading to wear with my reception dress.

I am posting the recipe for my daily matcha latte that I shared on my stories earlier this week! I have experimented with matcha in the past but honestly wasn’t crazy about it, then all of a sudden BOOM, I want it every day! Still waiting for the day I don’t absolutely detest beets.. Throw it all in a blender or whisk it until it’s thoroughly blended and served it over ice!

Well, I made the rookie mistake of wearing my favorite outfit (this dress) the first night of the festival and because we had hosted our Desert Oasis party until 6pm that day So when I got back from Coachella, I called my photographer, Nicole Moser, and asked her to come shoot the dress in all the freshly bloomed wildflowers engulfing the Malibu hills at the moment. I feel like this dress represents who I am in a way: feminine, playful but still sophisticated, fashionable but not trying too hard. For whichever lucky few of you, I saw this morning that there are still two size smalls of this dress and one size medium available online!

On a personal note I feel like L’Oreal saved me repeatedly throughout the weekend with their talented hair and makeup team! There were quite a few other really cool activations at our party (like The Bumby’s performing and a boohoo.com styling suite), and our media partner HerCampus was on Facebook Live capturing all of those during the event! It really gives you a good feel for what it felt like to attend (except for if you were me because I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off, tequila in hand haha! ). Our amazing Chef Veronica served up “desert oasis” themed food throughout the event, alongside cucumber jalapeño Reyka vodka and ginger-lime tequila cocktails.
