This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave. I believe our flag is more than just cloth and ink. It is a universally recognized symbol that stands for liberty, and freedom. It is the history of our nation, and itโs marked by the blood of those who died defending it. You will always have my lasting gratitude. Thank you for giving us the freedoms we so greatly needed. โค ๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ

#sponsored Homeschooling always seems to bring out the hunger, so we have one of our favorite snacks, Quaker Rice Crisps, on hand while we do Kindergarten work. They are great tasting, especially the Cheddar flavor. They are also great for any family occasion and are our favorite snack to grab while we enjoy an evening movie too! #FLAVORTHATPACKSACRUNCH #QUAKERRICECRISPS @quaker
When you get a cat, one of the concerns is a smelly litter box. Nothing worse than entering a home that smells like cat excrements. #sponsored Our self cleaning litter box has a filter in the tray, but it doesn't always work when the tray starts filling up so we added in a Nature's Miracle Litter Box Air Freshener. It has been a breath of fresh air as it controls tough litter box odors for up to one month. No more smellyness as we walk upstairs! @naturesmiracleproducts #NaturesMiracleCrazyEyes
Been trying to go for walks with the girls when it's not raining to get us all a little exercise in and to improve my mood. Lol I try to make it fun by listening to sounds (hearing/seeing the birds) spotting bugs or butterflies, and just checking out peoples homes. The girls noticed this along one of the sidewalks which was kinda cool. We have a group around us that paints rocks and hides them all over the city and it's fun coming across them randomly. Which now reminds me that we need to paint some more rocks amd hide them!
When you're driving and spot some wildlife and ya gotta pull over and snap a pic. Lol We love seeing animals, so we booked a trip to Winston Oregon for June (my birthday weekend) so that we can check out the wildlife safari now that we have 2 kiddos. Last time we went Arya was about the same age as Delilah is now so she probably doesn't remember it too much and it will be a whole new experience again. Can't wait!!
My little, big girl turned 6 at 9:20pm yesterday. I usually like to do a little something on their actual birthday and she wanted to go back and feed the duck and geese. There weren't that many at the time we went so we went down by the water where the geese were (her favorite after playing the untitled goose game) and requested mac and cheese for dinner and then we ended the day with popcorn and Raya and The Last Dragon. I was trying to hold off until it game to Disney in June but she's been wanting to watch since she's dragon obsessed so I caved for my girl. But, seriously Disney.. $30 for a digital movie!? Lol She loved it tho and that's all that matters.
Have you ever watched the movie Free Willy? It was one of our favorites growing up, so much so that we had to watch it everyday for a while. Keiko was the star of that movie and was even at the Oregon aquarium for a little while before being set free. We got a chance to see him once, which was pretty cool. And this is the film spot for the jump scene where he's set free in the movie. Kinda cool to see even if they used a mechanical orca for it.
I was going to try to find a duck pond to take the girls to yesterday since it was nice out, but, I couldn't find any duck food so they could feed them. So, we decided on walking and getting ice cream along the waterfront with auntie and cousins and ended up lucking out with a bunch of duck and geese. ๐ฅฐ No food unfortunately, but they did give them a couple fries. Shhh. ๐
We celebrated my daughter's 6th birthday Saturday even tho her actual day isn't until the 19th. I used to be the designated party thrower years ago for my siblings first kids, since I'd draw, cut and glue all of the decorations by hand. This was pre #cricut era ๐คฃ Holy moly, am I glad the @Cricut exists now, because it makes my life a lot easier when I can't find things I need. So I dusted it off and made my sweet Arya girl a happy birthday banner and a paper creeper head to go with other decor I found at Target. She had fun and was loving her #Minecraft party. She even said it was the best day ever, but she says a lot of days are the best days ever which I am thankful for, because it means my kids are happy and enjoying every little moment. BTW, no one seems to have rights to Minecraft for cake ordering, so I had to wing it ๐ Anyone else have a Minecraft obsessed kiddo?
In school, I found history boring and I just couldn't focus or absorb the information being told to us. It was my least favorite subject besides math. I love it now because there's so much to see and experience outside of a classroom setting. Getting to see locations puts the history into a whole new perspective. This place is Battery Russel, and is a part of Fort Stevens near Warrenton, Oregon (very close to the town of Astoria). Part of the Fort Steven's Military Reservation, it served post to the Oregon Coast during the Civil War, until World War II. Situated very gracefully on one of the hills, it faces the flow and the ebb of the beautiful Pacific Ocean, and upon a glance, one can see it's rich history. A must stop if you're into that sort of thing!
