Cute coffee shop on the Toronto waterfront! We stumbled upon this spot on one of our walks and so glad we did! @lazy_barista is a minimalist coffee shop with high ceilings, copious amounts of bright light and some really yummy and creative drinks. There’s plenty of space to work or hang out, but because of the location, taking a walk with drink in hand by the water is the way to go! I had the honey cardamom latte and it was creamy, nutty and perfectly balanced. Save this for your next pasta craving! 🍝 I don’t often get pasta when I’m eating out because it’s so easy to make at home but my experience at @luluspastabar might change that! This small quick serve restaurant opened last year in Griffintown and there are still lineups out the door. They specialize in making fresh pasta to enjoy in their resto or at home. They have three noodle types to pick from, each cooked to the perfect bite with only semolina flour and water. You choose your sauce, protein and toppings or pick one of their premade selections. I went with the Tuscan Chicken - Lulu’s Creme sauce, chicken, spinach, sun-dried tomato pesto, parsley, topped with cherry tomatoes and fresh parm. First of off the serving is HUGE, definitely enough for two people. The sauce was so flavourful, creamy and each bite was just bursting with that umami goodness. The MOST DECADENT CAKE ever! On my last trip to Toronto we checked out the newest addition to @thewell_to brought over straight from Calgary. Upon walking into @bridgettebartoronto you are transported to a different time with the retro vibes and an open airy space. I was shocked at how big the 2nd floor was. We loved everything we ate, the service was impeccable and they were really good about accommodating for some dietary restrictions. We had: 🍟 french fries (don’t sleep on these!) 🐠 smoked tuna crudo (we had it without the bread crumbs) 🥗 spiced beet salad 🥔 crispy smashed potatoes 🍌 banana cream pie Everything was so flavourful and delicious. I would get everything again! Don’t even get me started about that banana pie, so decadent, so creamy and a must share with at least two other people! I am dying to try their pizza and pastas and I’ve heard the garlic bread is an absolute must have. They do have a happy hour so it’s worth checking out for $10 pizzas. I was also super impressed with their selection of mocktails and non alcoholic drink options. My favourite Greek restaurant in Montreal! Sometimes you just need to forgo all the trendy new restaurants popping up in the city and go for something tried and true, a real city gem. I discovered this spot by accident when I was craving Greek food and ordered a chicken plate to my house. I instantly fell in love with how juicy and flavourful the chicken was, how fresh the ingredients were and the care that they took with every detail. @souvlaki_george has been around since 1986 and if you know, you know, this spot is the best for classic Greek dishes. They have their own recipe that double cooks the chicken to preserve its juiciness and they serve up classic plates with rice, potatoes and pita. But my go to is their Greek chicken salad. Fresh vegetables, juicy chicken skewers, chunks of feta and a homemade dressing. They also have a Caesar salad similarly made with all homemade ingredients. What I loved most was that it felt tucked away from the hustle and bustle of old Montreal in an area that can often feel very touristy. You can enjoy lunch, brunch, dinner and even a happy hour menu.
