this past weekend I got a mothers day card in the mail from a friend (who’s not yet a mama! ) so it all just got me thinking about ways to empower + encourage YOU to love on the mama/mama friend in YOUR LIFE. since mothers day is just around the corner – it’s the perfect chance to spoil the mama/mama figure in your life with something to make her feel oh so special! or throw some hints to your man for you! bottle of tears was started + is run by my sweet friend Lindsey Wheeler.

I came alive to the purpose and calling on my life: to love others, to make God known, and to create a space for others to belong. I want nothing more than for women to know their worth, to know their creator, to be in deep rich community and have a place to feel known and to belong. Deep deep friendships are formed when you share a common goal and a passion and THIS IS WHAT OUR COMMUNITY IS ALL ABOUT. This was something I was so deeply committed to doing, even in the uncomfort, because we are going to be doing life and business together until we are 80+, and my thought was – the first time we were ALL under the same roof, we had to start from the beginning and hear about where we each came from, and how we are who we are today.

honestly, if you have a vision and it’s big – chances are, you aren’t going to want to go alone at it. About a year or so ago I had a vision for what it could look like to welcome my Haven + Flourish community leaders (for my young living business) into my home for a weekend retreat. Let me give you some tangible examples of how they served me, because I bet you can see yourself in one of these/ Risa took Rivers with her and her 2 kids to the gym and the park so I could clean Carly took Asher to Chick Fil A for lunch with her daughter (ashers friend) Danielle brought her baby over, and helped me do some special hand lettering + put together a cheese board KJ + Jen drove through and got our favorite dessert, lit candles, put out wine glasses, started a fire and encouraged us in our life story telling Sally cooked her famous scones + quiche and served us breakfast Michelle helped cast a vision for decor and hospitality, and let me borrow her juicer Audrey + Ashley used their storytelling gifts through their photography I told my Haven + Flourish girls that even if they didn’t come (which I’m so glad they did! ), that my heart was so encouraged to see that my hometown people CARE ABOUT WHAT I”M DOING.

and while there are multiple things that come up on that list, it’s THIS DISCIPLINE that came to mind first. I hope these words encourage you to think about what is the thing that’s been tugging at your heart, and then give you confidence to go forth and begin. To encourage you that this community and space of belonging isn’t just for some of us, but it’s for all of us. I truly long to use the voice, influence and platform I’ve been given to bring Glory to God and to help you see yourself in this story more clearly.
