I used my griddle pan to get nice lines on them, but you can use a flat frying pan if you do not have a griddle pan. But at the start of this year I decided to see if I could shift the weight. Dave and I follow a Mediterranean lifestyle diet which is easy to summarise as follows. After that, in decreasing amounts are heart healthy oils and dairy; cheese fish and eggs; white meat such as pork and chicken; red meat; and lastly, sweet treats.
Other than the complimentary afternoon tea and treats, expect to step out of the bath or over-sized shower and wrap yourself in a beautiful towelling gown while slipping your feet into the slippers that have been provided. The syrup glaze ensures that the cake stays nice and moist, and adds extra flavour. Instead of not being able to fully enjoy the wining and dining experience we would stay somewhere overnight. Neither Dave nor John choose to wear smart clothes but each year they make a special effort. But I can imagine that as soon as people realize they will be stuck in South Africa in December, the self-catering places will be snapped up.
