No matter what time of year you travel to Strasbourg, you will have a great time in the city. A 45-minute boat tour comes free with the pass and it’s a smart idea to book this ahead of time to ensure you’re able to get on a boat at your preferred time. My Strasbourg itinerary leaves enough time to catch this presentation if you start the walking tour a bit earlier and shorten lunchtime to a quick 30 minutes after the presentation. A self-guided walking tour using the audio guide is the perfect way to see the city as well as learn all about its history in a short amount of time.
EtC…Hotel: Located right in between Petite France and the Cathedral. Purchase your Strasbourg Pass when you arrive in the city at the tourist office located right next to the cathedral. If the boat tour is on your itinerary, their office is right next to the tourist office so you can book your boat tour right after you purchase the pass. Our hotel did not come with breakfast but that didn’t worry me a bit because as long as I could have a French pastry in one hand and a café
Natural Bridges State Park: The state park and beach are big and you can spend some time exploring it if you’d like or you can just do what we did and check out the Natural Bridges from the lookout point. Beach House at Lover’s Point: We were looking for a dinner spot with a view and Beach House had an incredible one. If you look up the trip from Pacific Grove to Paso Robles without any stops along Highway 1, it shows the drive as about 3.5 hours. Our dinner that night ended up being Wendy’s because many of the restaurants in Paso Robles close at 9:00 pm (something I wish I knew ahead of time).
Now that I’ve taken quite a few long-haul flights, I know exactly what to pack in my carry-on to make my long-haul flights as comfortable as possible. Not only will you love having this for your long-haul flight, but this is another item you’ll be able to use throughout your trip. However, with the iPhone changing their headphone jack, you can’t use the same headphones for watching movies on the plane that you would use to listen to music on your phone. Something I don’t think many people think about when going somewhere international is the number of things they will need to have accessible when they get off the plane.
