My husband and I make sure to tip generously even on take-out orders because that job might be the only thing holding that waitress’s/waiter’s family together. That little gesture, that didn’t hurt us at all, made all the difference in the world to that little family that tries so hard. Offer to carpool when you go do what little Christmas shopping you can (maybe the other person can’t swing gas money, but isn’t going to let their little people down regardless). So for me to go from basics to a bold pattern like buffalo plaid (which as far as I’m concerned is beautifully bold, yet understated just enough to be professional) was a pretty big leap.
Once I get the cocoa powder mixed well, I love to add whipped cream to sweeten it up a bit. I also like to make it look a bit like a coffee shop drink, so I add sprinkles just for some fun. But the first few cups I made needed something, so after it finished brewing I added a little Ghirardelli chocolate sauce to the cocoa and mixed it in. Then I topped it with a little more chocolate sauce, and a little caramel sauce, both Ghirardelli.
