The synagogue is located on the Pest side of the city and is not only the most magnificent one in the city but also the largest in Europe and the second largest in the world. The largest church in Budapest is the St. Stephen’s Basilica and it’s dedicated to Hungary’s first king, St. Stephen. If we were to travel back in the 20th Century, the New York Cafe would be most beautiful and the most beloved coffee house in Budapest. If you are short on time and you wish to visit one single thermal bath in the City of Spas, I recommend choosing the Szechenyi Bath.

We did the 45 minutes scenic tour that includes views of Central Park, the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, Madison Square Garden, Harlem, George Washington Bridge, Yankee Stadium and we flew all the way downtown to the Freedom Tower, Financial District, Battery Park, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. We went to the Prague Castle, the Hradany Square, the St-Vitus cathedral and the St-Georges Basilica. We went to the Old Town Hall Tower to gain altitude and see the beautiful city change colors, enjoying the spectacular view of the main square packed with protesters. After all the walking, eating and having had a beer, I got extremely sleepy and went to my hotel for the next two nights: the Aria Hotel Prague. It’s easy to walk to lots of sites such as the Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, Lennon Wall, Old Town..
The Prague card gives you access to most of the museums and public transportation for a duration of 24 to 72 hours depending on which ones you choose. The location is very good, tucked into a nice and quiet street within easy walking distance from the hotspots such as Prague Castle, the Charles Bridge, Town Square and the Jewish Quarter. After a quick nap, I suited up and went to the National Theatre to see the Don Giovanni Opera. Back in 1787, Mozart himself conducted his opera The Marriage of Figaro in this theater, and later composed Don Giovanni which premiered in Prague.
