Staff at Barc Animal Shelter (in Houston, Texas) reached out to their partner rescuers at Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue (RMFR) in Denver, Colorado as the kittens needed special care. After the family of four arrived at RMFR, their Foster Coordinator took them home to work out a regimen on their treatment. Laura Hernandez, a foster volunteer, stepped up to be their caretaker for the rest of their foster journey and recovery after surgery. This special little family is now thriving in foster care thanks to their rescuers who went the extra mile to save them so they could all have a chance at a forever home.
Last week, Here Kitty Kitty Rescue in Elkhart, Indiana received a call about four kittens found in a chicken coop. When they went to their chicken coop, they found the poor momma attacked by a coyote and the babies still in the chicken coop," Missy of Here Kitty Kitty Rescue told Love Meow. Sadly, the cat mom didn't survive, but she left behind four kittens that were completely protected inside the chicken coop. " The litter of four snuggled right up to their new litter mates and began rumbling with their adorable purrs, forming the cutest little purr symphony.
Early Saturday morning, The Cat House on the Kings was contacted by the Fresno Fire Department personnel about a litter of kittens trapped in the wreckage of a burned structure. A total of 40 firefighters were called to the scene in order to put out the fire," Harvie Schreiber of the Cat House on the Kings told Love Meow. "The kittens are bottle babies and arrived scared, hissy, wet, a bit sooty and smelling like smoke from the fire," Harvie told Love Meow. They are drinking mostly kitten formula and enjoying some play time with a few toys," Jacky told Love Meow.
A little scrawny kitten was given a new lease on life when a family took him home and nursed him back to health. The Rescue Team, a local rescue group, took Puck into their care and transported him to a foster home so he could get a chance at a better life. " He was underweight, lethargic and severely anemic due to being completely covered in fleas," Sarah, a foster volunteer of the rescue, told Love Meow. He's gone from that scrawny, sick kitty to now a pudgy, playful love-bug.
