Jenny Peters has covered the entertainment, lifestyle and travel worlds as a freelance journalist for many years. Her credits include writing on film, celebrities, events and parties, travel, restaurants, wine and spirits, design and architecture, beauty, spas, golf, automobiles and fashion for USA Today, National Geographic Traveler, New York Lifestyles Magazine, AARP.com, Variety, New York Magazine, Bask Magazine, the Los Angeles Daily News and many other domestic and international publications, websites and wire services. She was the editor in chief of Brentwood/Distinctive Living magazines (the Southern California luxury lifestyle magazines), and held the same post for Scene magazine. Before she became a full-time freelance writer, Peters was a manuscript editor at Random House Trade Publishing, working with authors ranging from Woody Allen to Carl Sagan. She is a founding and voting member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association, who present the Critics’ Choice Awards every January honoring the previous year’s finest in cinematic achievement. A great way to spend the end of summer and Labor Day weekend is always at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, enjoying the annual Los Angeles Times The Taste culinary events. The intense Southern California heat mellowed each day after the sun set on the evenings of August 29, 30 and September 1, as many local foodies converged on the New York street scene on the studio backlot to indulge in delicious delicacies presented by fabulous area restaurants. Parties: Amazing Culinary Delicacies and World-Class Sips at the Pacific Wine and Food Classic in Newport Beach

A wonderful weekend of summer-inspired culinary bites, wine tastings, craft cocktails and DJ curated musical entertainment took place at the third annual Pacific Wine and Food Classic on Saturday, August 17, and Sunday, August 18, 2019. For those looking for light and refreshing choices, The Bubble Bar offered a variety of sparkling wines including selections from Scharffenberger Cellars, Wilson Creek, Gloria Ferrer, Argyle and G. H. Mumm. We also enjoyed the 2017 Pommard Clone Pinot Noir from Bouchaine Vineyards, the 2016 Sanford Pinot Noir, the 2016 Chimney Rock Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2017 Justin Cabernet Sauvignon. The third annual Pacific Wine & Food Classic celebrated the great Southern California summer season, showcasing many of Orange County and Long Beach’s finest restaurants as well as first-class wines, beers and spirits from around the world.

Music: Nikki Glaspie & the Homies Welcome Special Guest Ian Neville at The Mint

It was a special night for the Los Angeles fans that love New Orleans music and funk in general (pretty much everyone in the house) as Dumpstaphunk’s guitarist Ian Neville joined the band for a portion of the show. Ian Neville grew up around his prolific musical family and was part of the now defunct Neville Brothers in addition to his current gig with cousin Ivan Neville in Dumpstaphunk. In addition to host Nikki Glaspie on drums and special guest Ian Neville, the band included Ty Coombs on percussion, Shaundrin “DRiN Elliott on keys, Steve Thurston on keys, Enrique Sanchez (Meghan Trainor) on trumpet, Alex Wasily (Isley Brothers and Dumpstaphunk) on trombone and Pete Ortega (Beyoncé, Stevie Wonder) on tenor sax.
