Two Breweries to check out in Hamilton, MT! Bitterroot Brewing is honestly a hidden Gem! It was fun sampling a few beers, and their food was hot, quick, and delicious. We both had their gyros. You can find their beer at stores too! I also got a half growler to go from Higher Ground Brewing. It was good! I couldn't stay since we had to hit the road. However, the price of the half growler was more than half the price of a full growler, which, had I known that, I would have paid the few dollars for a full growler. Do you like checking out breweries when you travel? #montanabeer #breweries #bitterrootvalley #hamiltonmt #Hamilton #montanafoodie #montanaforlocals Montana Beer | Montana Breweries | Hamilton, Montana

📍Flathead Lake, Montana Are you a fan of rainbow rocks? Glacier National Park isn't the only place to find them! Many lakes have them, including Flathead Lake. Of course, leave no trace--I didn't take these home. I just used them for the photo. #ad You can use my code "HappierRoaming" to get 15% off Happier Place @happier_place products. They have some great options for the upcoming holidays! They remind you to embrace your happier place where you are and to show your love of adventure.  They ship internationally, too! 🙌 Link in bio or comment "MUG" on this post if you want me to send you my link. I get a small commission at no cost to you if you order anything for yourself or for a gift. #happierplace #sustainabletravel #sustainablehome  #happierplace #flatheadlake #rainbowrocks #fruitypebbles #glaciermt #supportsmallbusinessowners #supportsmallbiz #mtmoment #thatshowyoumontana #montanaforlocals

Another gem: Skalkaho Falls, between Hamilton and Philipsburg. It is 7260 feet above sea level. This is a really cool waterfall! It is right on the side of the road, no hike required! However, the mountain pass that goes past this waterfall is very harrowing. A large portion of the road is unpaved and narrow with sheer drop-offs and no guardrails. IF you go, here are some important tips: 1. Drive slowly! There is little to no room for error on most of the mountain pass. There are sharp curves and blind spots, and in past years, there were deaths on this pass. Don't be a jerk; drive slowly and carefully! 2. Note that there is very little parking by the waterfall--you essentially park by pulling over by the waterfall. 3. Consider driving Philipsburg to Hamilton--we drove the other way around, and that meant most of the time we were driving the side with all the scary drop-offs. 4. The mountain pass and falls are usually closed during the winter, so it is a seasonal byway between Hamilton and Philipsburg. Check the MDT 511 app to see if the road is open. Overall, this is a really beautiful waterfall, but the road is rather nerve-wracking. I did enjoy the relative solitude of the drive and the heavy scent of earthy pines, but I definitely almost had at least one heart attack with someone who was driving too fast from the other direction. "You are damaged and broken and unhinged. But so are shooting stars and comets." --Nikita Gill Today is World Mental Health Day. This year's theme is "Mental Health is a Universal Right." It is okay to need help. It is okay to get therapy or take medication for mental health issues. Sometimes, people will gaslight you into believing you don't need medicine or therapy even if you do, but you should be in control of your health. Or, maybe like me, you can't afford therapy or need to allocate your money elsewhere to other priorities. One thing to look into is if your workplace has an EAP benefit for a limited round of therapy. I did that earlier this year and saw an online therapist. You might also see if your local medical provider has financial assistance through a foundation funded by generous donors. Sometimes, you might be eligible for some even if you fall in that middle class range, preventing you from getting financial help elsewhere, but also not allowing you to live comfortably. You can find support systems, self-care, meditation, and more to help through rough times. I personally am really struggling lately with overwhelming sadness, despair, anxiety, loneliness, and isolation. For those of you that don't suffer from mental illness, please remember to reach out to struggling loved ones, whether a quick text or getting coffee. Life is hard, but we will get through it. It is okay to cry, but don't give up. 💙 Thanks to @candyhammerson for the post reminder of today being world mental health day! #mentalhealthawarness #mentalhealthtips #mentalhealthishealth #worldmentalhealthday #mentalhealthisahumanright #mentalhealthisauniversalright #therapyworks #therapyiscool #anxietywarrior #realtalk #nomakeupday

I still can't get over how I once heard someone saying East Glacier was boring or something to that effect. Two of the most beautiful views are in East Glacier, including this view of Many Glaicer! Follow Me For the best of Montana for locals and visitors alike! The thing is, with East Glaicer, you have to work a little harder and drive a little bumpier for some of these views, but it pays off. My dream is to one day stay at the Many Glacier Hotel for a night when I can afford a lake view. Have you ever stayed IN a National Park or stayed in Many Glacier Hotel? I've always stayed outside so far. #ad | Social media is covered with color theories and judgements about which celebrities are fall, summer, winter, or fall babes. The makeup counter will tell you if you have warm skin or cool skin. I have always felt awkward about my natural skin and have gotten contradictory guidance from makeup associates. But--what if there was a more precise way to find your colors instead of a one-size fits all box or contradictory advice? Introducing Style for Substance @styleforsubstance a service with an innovative device to find the colors that will suit YOU as you are. Style for Substance uses a device to measure your hair and skin values, and then the founder, Susan, gives you a custom guide tailored personally to you. She wants you to look and feel your best just as you are. You can stand out for your natural attributes instead of letting your clothes or makeup run the show. In the cover image for my Reel, I put half of the picture in a red sweater that only matches the hue of my hair and doesn't match my other hair values or skin values. On the other side, I put my new blue top and new brown jacket that each match one of my skin values AND each match two values of my hair. Look at the difference! Check out my video for more examples and more about this service. If you're interested in trying this out for yourself or buying this as a gift this upcoming holiday season, use my code "Kara30." I will get a commission at no cost to you. You also can buy this even if you aren't in the United States! The direct link is in my bio or comment "Colors" and I'll send you the link. Now, the big question: have you ever been told you are a particular skin tone or season and then told something contradictory elsewhere? I'm still fondly thinking of our apple picking session and enjoying said apples. Green Bench Orchard posted that they still have apples! Located in Missoula, they are a great option we've enjoyed in the past. They have big apples. This is a very easy day trip from Helena, Montana! For the pictured orchard, which is Getmans' Cherry Red Orchard, look up their Facebook page and text Farmer Dan to see if they have apples and arrange a time to go pick some 🍎 apples! We enjoyed going there this year along Flathead Lake. If you live in Montana or visit over the summer, be sure to remember Getmans' Orchard for Cherries! We also did this as a day trip, but it is a longer drive than Missoula--worth it for us, though! Enjoy the rest of the weekend, and stay tuned for an exciting product feature I'll be posting about tomorrow! What would you do with a ton of fresh apples? Do you go apple picking or prefer pumpkin patches and corn mazes? 🍎 🍏 🍎 🍏 #visitmissoula #flatheadlake #missoula #missoulamt #polsonmt #visitmt #visitmontana #montanaforlocals #montanamoment #montanaexplored #fall2023 #autumn2023 #october2023

Hidden Gem 💎 St. Ignatius Mission in St. Ignatius, Montana. These would be perfect to visit for Mass during vacation or in conjunction with a trip to Polson, Missoula, The Buffalo Range, Stutzman's Market, or The Garden of 1000 Buddhas. This is probably the most gorgeous small painted Church I've seen thus far and left me in awe. I loved the cultural aspects incorporated into the church as well. It was built in 1891 and is dedicated to St. Ignatius of Loyola, and is a National Historic Site. A brother who was the Mission Cook painted all the murals, Br. Joseph Carignano, S.J. There are also other historical buildings and artifacts on the property and signs explaining the history of this location and how it came to be here. When you travel, do you visit historic churches or not? #visitmissoula #montanacolors #montanaexplored #montanamoment #historicchurches #visitmontana #paintedchurch #polson #stignatiusmontana #stignatiusofloyola #missoulamt #catholicchurches

My really long-time followers might recognize some of these shots, but I wanted to post a throwback to one of my other favorite fall locations in Montana, which is Lost Creek State Park. 🍁🍂 With a picturesque drive and then a cute waterfall walking distance from the parking, this is definitely one of my favorite state parks and fall locations. You can also visit Anaconda and/or Anaconda Smoke Stack State Park, too.🥰 This is the perfect day trip or a passing through trip from Helena, Butte, or Phillipsburg.🤩 Do you chase waterfalls or fall leaf peeping when possible?🍁🍂 #southwestmontana #montanalife #visitsouthwestmontana #montanamoment #visitmontana #onlyinmontana #anacondamt #buttemt #helenamt #helenamontana #visithelenamt #fall2023 #leafpeeping

Reminder: another cool Montana attraction is the Garden of One Thousand Buddhas, especially during the fall and spring when temperatures are cooler. 🍁🍂 ---> @ewambuddhagarden You can walk around this peaceful public attraction and check out all the architecture, statues, and botanical features while getting your steps in.🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ Their website states, "The purpose of the garden is to bring about positive transformation within those who visit, in response to the negativity that abounds in the world today." 😌 This is a great day trip from Missoula or Polson, OR an addition to a trip to Missoula and/or the Bison Range nearby in the Flathead Valley. 🤩 For hours, information, and more, please always check their website and socials. ❤️ 📍Arlee, Montana #montanaexplored #fall2023 #montanalife #montanamoment #onlyinmontana #visitmontana #visitmissoula #montanaroadtrip #roadtripusa
