Award-Winning Photographer of Architecture, Interior Design, and Architectural Products.
I’ve been offering interior design photography services since 2002. In that time, I’ve learned a lot about what will make a shoot go well for interior designers, architects, furniture makers, window treatment manufacturers, lighting companies, and many more
When Oreck reached out to me to create a lifestyle product photo library for their new POD Cordless Vacuum, I knew exactly how I would approach it. However, due to budget constraints and very specific creative needs, Art Director Rybe Henderson and his team at Oreck decided we should shoot this project in a studio setting on room sets rather than in a private home. On this shoot, I used my favorite Profoto studio packs and we started with broad main fill light bounced through a large 8’x8′ silk. On shoot days, Lincoln’s positive and relaxed demeanor makes working through a long shot list a painless process.
Exactly 4 years and one day after I made the announcement I was leaving Portland, OR for Charlottesville, VA I drafted this post. I am announcing that my family and I are officially moving back to Portland, OR! On April 4th, 2015, my wife, my mother-in-law, and I got on a United Airlines flight with a spirited 2-year-old toddler, a tiny lil’ 3 month-old-infant, and two fuzzy cats to set up life back in the town where my wife and I met. Though we love Charlottesville and being close to family here is super helpful, ultimately Portland is a special place to us and we feel it’s where we belong.
Refined Choice Google is great and all, but if you want to save a little time in verifying that the photographer you’re hiring is a professional, I would suggest using one of the photo industry trade organization websites. I’ve personally referred plenty of other photographers to my clients if their projects weren’t a great fit for me. There is a golden rule for backup of digital assets called the 3-2-1 Rule: 3 Backups, 2 Types of Media, 1 Off-site. I learned a lot about Digital Asset Management from Peter Krogh’s great book, The DAM Book (in its third printing).
