The Beastie Boys' Ad-Rock Buys a Really Green House for $1.7M

Adam Horovitz (Ad-Rock) of the Beastie Boys purchased a $1.73 million home in South Pasadena, Calif. According to the Los Angeles Times, the house was originally listed in June for $1.688 million, and the sale closed in August for $42,000 more than the asking price. In addition to the new home purchase, Horovitz recently released a new book with bandmate, Mike Diamond, called Beastie Boys Book. Among other things, the book details how the band wasted "so much f---ing money" making their sophomore album, Paul's Boutique, and also how they got played for Donny Osmond.

A response to Dr. Dre's juggernaut album, The Chronic, Eazy-E's The most notable song from the eight-track offering is the diss "Real Muthaphuckkin G's," where Eazy-E comically took aim at Dr. Dre following Dre and Snoop Dogg's brutal diss on The Chronic's "Dre Day."
