These are great for storing things like pills, small change, spices for camping, little snacks (they’re versatile so you can even use them in the craft room, office or workshop to store bits and pieces They’re lightweight and can even be tossed in your bag (or the Kammock hip pack that also came with this month Lightweight and weather durable, this Burro Hip Pack by Kammock is the perfect pack for day hikes or just getting in and around the city without being weighed down by oversized bags. It’s roomy enough to store all your essentials like a water bottle, wallet, phone, sunnies and keys etc This pack will definitely come in handy on my walks as well – another product I can see myself using a lot.

The monthly box costs about $41 AUD, plus shipping (as this is an American based subscription box, shipping is free in the States, and the box costs $29.95 USD monthly, with 3-5 full sized outdoor products). The Cairn Scout newsletter provides more information about the products included in the collection, introduces the new UnStacked promo where subscribers can enter into a unique gear auction experience, this month’s Adventure Upgrade (available to USA subscribers only), Cairn Community Feature as well as subscriber perks and a link to ‘Backcountry Chef’ which is full of how-to videos to up your trail meals and backcountry cooking skills! As with every month, you’ll receive a food product with your collection, Skout are certified Organic, certified Kosher, vegan, Non-GMO, gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free, and soy-free – so pretty much perfect for any lifestyle or dietary requirements! This month’s collection has a retail value of $46.46 USD ($63.86 AUD), and I know that I’ll get a lot of use out the two humangear products in particular (here’s hoping we get more products from this brand in the future!)

There’s actually two different types of subscription boxes available: Their monthly subscription box (which I’ve subscribed to) contains about 3-5 full sized outdoor products and has a value of up to $50 USD. Each month you’ll receive a food item in your subscription box – something designed for the outdoors, like this protein puck that’d be great for hiking etc. The Provo has a moisture wicking sweatband, a floatable EVA brim, the material used in the hat is UPF 50+ rated, and it’s a low profile cap (meaning that it’s a great fit for those like myself who wear small to medium size hats – I love that all products are full sized products too (your subscription isn’t full of samples, but rather quality products that you’ll get plenty of use out of – well, aside from the food items, coz hey, those won’t

We just happened to be in West End on a lazy Saturday afternoon, feeling a tad peckish, when we spied Crepe Kamon tucked into the corner of a string of shops on Vulture Street. If you remember the old days of West End before its gentrification, these are the same shops where the Chinese butcher was, across the road from where Trash video used to be. Crepe Kamon’s offerings put us in mind of that Japan trip: the sweet crepe was full of flavour and soft textures, and didn’t leave us feeling sickly from sugar overload like many crepes here in Australia do. It came served upon the galette, with a bundle of lettuce, bean, tomato, sweet potato, avocado, and drizzled with a tasty sauce.
