GILDED SERPENT IS BOOK 3 IN THE DARK SHORES SERIES, SO MY REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR THE FIRST TWO BOOKS Gilded Serpent picks up right where Dark Shores and Dark Skies finish and sets us on a rollercoaster ride right from the start. I’d be convinced I was more in love with Marcus and Teriana’s story while I was reading it, then switch allegiance to Killian and Lydia when I got to their chapters, and so on! Gilded Serpent, and the entire Dark Shores series, is an intense ride you don’t want to miss!
A cosmic reimagining of Romeo and Juliet and homage to two literary classics in a compelling novel about fate, love and time travel from an award-winning author. Among these are eighteen-year-old Juliet and the love of her life, Romeo. The growth of Juliet’s character, from lovestruck girl to someone awake to the silliness of instant love, was brilliantly done and I adored Ellis as a character in every part of the book. The story of Romeo and Juliet took centre stage as the retelling, but Wuthering Heights also played a large part.
Stalking Claremont: A real life account of the Claremont Serial Killer in the 90’s from Western Australia and his eventual capture. His capture 20 years later was a shock to say the least, so I knew I needed to read this book as soon as I saw it. ‘make you think’ book in typical Shusterman style, although this one revolves around a football player, you don’t need to be interested in football to read it! As usual, clicking on the pics below will take you to my reviews (Some reviews may not be live on my blog yet as I post them on the book’s release date due to
When new mother Bridget catches her train home from London, she witnesses something terrible: a young girl is taken from the platform, right before her eyes. Bridget is exhausted, working long hours while her husband is at home with their baby. When she witnesses a child being kidnapped from a station, when she’s rushing past on the train, she’s desperate for her to be found. The author did a wonderful Jon of hilighting the difficulties of both sides of parenting – for ones working away from home and ones staying home with the child.
