While this family friendly ski resort is mostly known for its downhill skiing and snowboarding, it’s also home to one of the largest snow tubing parks in the Lower Mainland. Tubing is a popular winter activity at at Sasquatch Mountain Resort and day passes are a hot commodity this season due to physical distancing measures that are in place. The Sasquatch Mountain Resort tube park has 7 lanes to slide down. When we go snow tubing we always wear snow pants, warm winter coats, helmet, googles, winter boots and gloves.
A fun way to sample a variety of sushi is visiting a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, also called rotation sushi, sushi train and kaiten sushi. Many restaurants in Japan offer a set menu with soba noodle soup as the main dish, accompanied by a variety of side dishes, like tuna sushi, salmon sashimi, grilled vegetables, steamed spinach with peanut sauce (Goma-ae), crispy tempura batter and chawanmushi (traditional savory egg custard). Or, you can enjoy Kobe beef on the cheap by sampling kobe beef sushi from a variety of restaurants or street food vendors. It’s a narrow, five block long shopping street that specializes food related items, like fresh seafood, grilled meats, produce, pickled food, dried foods and sushi.
So, when planning our Alaska cruise in the summer of 2019, we decided to visit the mighty Hubbard Glacier in Alaska’s picturesque Disenchantment Bay. The Alaska cruise departs from Vancouver and takes 4 days to reach the Hubbard Glacier in Alaska. The cruise ship spent about an hour inside Disenchantment Bay bay before returning south from the Hubbard Glacier to Juneau, Alaska. A few hours before reaching Yakutat Bay, we overheard crew members say that our Alaskan cruise ship might not be able to make it inside the bay.
It’s natural to want your kids to love skiing or snowboarding as much as you do. We’ve spent this entire ski season at Sasquatch Mountain Resort and the consistency has been good for Connor’s confidence. It’s important to pick a family friendly mountain when teaching your kids to ski. He already knows how to ski and he’s getting pretty good, however this ski club at Sasquatch Mountain will push him to develop his skills with kids his age (rather than with his parents).
