Masks were less common outdoors than indoors, however, businesses with signs requiring masks did not seem to be having any problems with people not wearing them. In the National Parks, about half of people wore masks all the time and the other half wore them only when near others or as they were passing people on the trails. Masks and social distancing were expected while ordering food (take out only in the parks this year) and in the grocery stores and other shops. To be completely honest, I felt safer on this road trip, being outdoors enjoying our National Parks than I feel going into my local grocery store!
