Viking was the first cruise line to suspend operations at the beginning of the pandemic, and today’s update about the official restart was triggered because the UK Government recently signalled that it will allow the resumption of domestic cruises beginning in May 2021. Grounded in scientific research, the Viking Health & Safety Programme was developed in partnership with an international team of medical advisors, including Raquel C. Bono, M.D., Viking’s Chief Health Officer. With the implementation of our Viking Health & Safety Program, which includes daily PCR testing for all guests and crew, among many other protocol enhancements, Viking will not require vaccinations for these three domestic UK sailings. However, Viking’s medical team will continue to monitor vaccination rates and adjust our protocol and policies as needed to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our guests and crew.

This Café can be found at the heart of every Celebrity ship and features a variety of coffees, pastries and other fare. The flagship restaurant this new class of ship, the Eden Restaurant is situated at the aft of the ship overlooking the wake, this is a prime spot to enjoy a sumptuous dinner. Situated overlooking the Grand Plaza on Edge and Apex, as well as featuring some al fresco space that looks out over the ocean, this is a sophisticated steak and seafood restaurant. One of my favourite Celebrity restaurants at sea, Murano is a classic French restaurant including fresh lobster prepared tableside, gorgeous chateaubriand, artisanal cheeseboards, and world-class service.

Examples include a private acrobatic show by Les Farfadais at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, or a Maori cultural performance at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa in New Zealand. The R Class, which were built at the turn of the Millennium for a now defunct cruise line, are considered by many as some of the best cruise ships afloat, from size, to design and overall feel. The food on board is azamazing (sorry, I’ll stop now), whether that’s the casual Windows Café, the main restaurant or the two for-fee specialities – one a steak house and one an Italian. Expect menus to draw upon the destinations being visited and expect a variety of dinner events through the course of a cruise, including a chocolate buffet, dim sum, sushi and other offerings.
