Boss Babe
At the very beginning, with my work load not slowing down with everyone else’s, I saw my role in the solution as a simple supporting role. Many that have lost their usual income source had resorted to side hustles to assist with the financial burdens. I mean, if I’m gonna shop anyway, why not shop from those that I know will be directly impacted with my splurges. The usual source of stress relief: lunch dates, after hour drinks, weekend BBQs, had all been taken from us.
Absolutely grateful we had a chance to celebrate with family and friends before we all had to start staying home and social distancing. Since the pandemic I’ve been deployed to work from home, but have been in and out of the office trying to get everyone else ready to work from home as well. Between working on deployments and still running business as usual, I work 10 hour days easily including weekends. For instance we use a delivery service for a groceries as much as we can, my friends and family have started utilizing video chats as a means to connect, and the film festivals have started becoming virtual as well.
The wedding day was two days ago, and I’m still recovering and trying to catch my breath. I promise to love you in good times and in bad, when life seems easy and when it seems hard, when our love is simple, and when it is an effort. You cards mailed, organizing the house and catching up all the chores and errands I’ve set aside while we were busy getting ready for the wedding.
, I’m due to pick up my wedding dress from the alterations place some time this afternoon, and I still have a playlist of wedding reception songs to put together. Here it is a day before my bridal shower and we have to go buy and install a new washing machine because the old one broke this week. Adam and I have been together for going on 4 years now, (4 years exactly on our wedding day,) and we would have been just fine going to a courthouse and signing there. Regardless of the good and bad of wedding planning and weddings in general, I’m excited to be Mrs Drinnen for sure!
