Many of you are probably coming to Nashville soon for the NFL draft, or maybe CMA Fest or a bachelorette weekend or another excuse for a long-weekend getaway. No matter how you’re experiencing Music City, you must make time to eat your way through it—the food scene is absolutely on fire, and some of the best restaurants in Nashville are also the best in the country
In the past decade, we’ve seen a huge shift in the travel media space: Magazines are folding left and right, those that survive often scale back to 10 issues a year and then, eventually, a digital-only model, and earned media seems a thing of the past. Newspaper content is hardly “news” anymore; it’s product placements for its sponsors with zero concern for FTC disclosure
—we’d come to terms with having to build, which was our 2020 plan, once we realized our dream mid-century modern house did not already exist—because if we’re going to buy another place, it’s going to be exactly what we’re looking for, no ifs, ands or buts. It’s not out of the realm of (far-off) possibilities, but for now, the area just isn’t where it should be in terms of drawing tourists, so we’ll leave that investment for when new politicians who care about Manchester’s growth get elected into office … someday (hey, a girl can dream, right? ). We already got the Cedar House for about $75,000 less than she’s currently valued, and with everything we plan to do, I have no doubt her value will only increase, particularly in the area we’re in (right off a golf course, in the best school district). We actually just launched our murals website, which garnered a lot of interest from new artists, and we’re in talks with at least half a dozen talented muralists about various walls and projects, we have applied for several grants and are a finalist for two (so far), and we’ve got so many irons in the fire, I can’t even begin to tell you what a big year in might be for our little mural passion project.
We are on the cover of Oklahoma City’s new visitors guide. I’m coming up on my four-year acroversary and couldn’t be more in love with this partner style of yoga. It’s on art and our upcoming art festival, and he’s just so good as an interview subject, I couldn’t be prouder. We’ve closed the books on accepting any new longer-term clients through the late summer, and pretty soon we’ll be filled up on the fall and not accepting new projects until 2020.
