Happy holidays and cue the epistle. This road trip was a little different. This one took me home for the holidays to a house that immediately brought back memories of countless sleepovers, laughter and @tropicsgirl_bella spoiling us by always being the chef...a house at which I always felt right at home. Happy times. Made me so nostalgic. Spending time there reminded me that sometimes friends are just that...genuine and true. No pretence, no judgment, no disrespect. 25 years of friendship with @palomazacca (whoa 👀) and the bond remains. Please move back home 😭 I miss you Pal Pal. . We caught up while scrapbooking - sorting through her father's newspaper clippings, programs and photos from his acting days. I think sometimes we forget or maybe don't even realize just how full a life parents led, so it was a beautiful thing to look through his many accomplishments. Same for her mom. She walked me through her journey as a professional dancer and yoga teacher, and her travels around the world. Looking at everything they've both done made me realize there's so much life I have yet to be lived. . The smiles on their faces was everything for me. Warmed my heart. . Now that I'm older and at a point in my life where I'm on a journey of self love and being mindful of toxic energy, I appreciate her mom's calm spirit and loving nature more than ever. I swear there is nooooo one more chill than her. No one. To know her is to love her. . Pal Pal, again, ready for you to move back 😘 . Hope you've all had a chance to spend time with loved ones. P.S. A while back friends had asked me what my ideal first date is. I said I knew for sure that I didn't want a 'fancy' dinner date; I'd want something laidback and low key. Something chill. I remember how appalled they were by my answer. They said that the first date sets the precedent for how you expect to be treated. As such, they felt the bar should be set at a ('fancy') dinner date. As I lay here on the beach (and even fell asleep), I was reminded just how much I enjoy the simple things. Abandoned and forgotten, overgrown with bushes and vines, but once upon a time this place had a pulse. . A gentleman on the property said many years ago it was an estate where coconut trees grew as far as the eye could see. There was a bakery there where coconut treats were made and sold. .
