🎄🏰🎄 Christmas trees and a castle make the holidays even more magical! Last year we spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at Disneyland, and it was one of the best things we’ve ever done! We couldn’t get back for 2022, but I’d do it every single year if we could make it work. We left Minnesota for a Disneyland Christmas last year because we wanted to have a holiday that was nothing but fun. This time of year is so stressful, and I find it really hard to sit back and enjoy it. So we left our usual holiday obligations behind and celebrated the season like we’ve never been able to before. It’s almost December 25, 2022, and the weight of the holiday feels just as heavy as every year in recent memory. Except how I felt in 2021. 2021. Jersey, my dog, isn’t doing so well. I came so close to losing her in 2019, when she was 12 years old, sometimes I can’t believe we’re going on 4 years post-attack/injury. I’m so grateful, BEYOND grateful, for every day I’ve had with her since then, but I can tell she’s getting tired. I sometimes tell her “It’s tough to be a Jersey” because she doesn’t understand (and definitely doesn’t care) how hard her life is. I’ll keep her with us for as long as she’s happy, because she deserves only happiness and peace for the rest of her life. But oh my gosh, knowing that her time with us is limited is making me want to die inside. I’m trying to stay in the moment. I’m giving Jersey all of her favorite things: warm, fluffy blankets, nonstop quality time with me, attention from Haiden and Piper and hard-boiled egg yolks. And I’ll keep doing all of it for as long as she wants it. There’s really nothing else I can do. We knew when we adopted her in February 2008 that Jersey was a survivor. She proved it in February 2019. I hope we still have many more days, weeks, months and years together. But…if we don’t…I just hope she knows how loved she is. #mydogandi #mydogismyfamily #dogislove

Memories captured 📸 = successful road trip 🚙! Our family vacation to Colorado was the highlight of our summer! ⭐️ Parenting tip: If your kids are reluctant to pose for pictures, try an Instax camera! It's been years since Haiden and Piper have booth been this excited for a photo shoot. The instant gratification and retro look made picture taking fun again!! ⭐️ AD My husband drove the entire way and made it look like a breeze, knocking out 10 hours the first day and 8 hours the second, then doing the opposite on the way back. The kids were completely happy in the backseat with books, music and tablets, while James and I listened to a year's worth of trivia podcasts in the front. We hadn't taken a multi-night road trip since our kids were little, and I guess I didn't realize how good and easy it all could be. A few hours into day 2, I was like, "Oh, THIS is why families drive places." A big thanks to Midas for making sure our car ran as smoothly as the rest of the vacation. The #TripBeforeTheTrip made sure we were #RoadTripReady, and the camera they provided made taking pictures with our friends so fun!
These alpacas have seen Jersey in her wheelchair three times, and each time they’re hilariously FASCINATED at the sight of her!
