Hungry, Hungry Mama: 8 Healthy Snacks to Stash in the Diaper Bag for Moms On-the-Go

I’ve tried a couple of the flavors but the original is by far my favorite; I love that they’re made with simple clean ingredients like grass-fed beef, without any gluten, nitrates or nitrites. I like that they’re made simply with fruit, nuts and simple add-ins like chocolate chips, lemon juice or coconut depending on the flavor. They’re always gluten free, dairy free, soy free, vegan and kosher! I like Trader Joe’s Roasted Plantain Chips, made with just plantains, sunflower oil and salt.

Healthy Chicks in the Community Series: Meet Marybeth Keener of Meadowbrook Estate

Marybeth Keener is a healthcare practitioner (trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine), wellness enthusiast and Owner of Meadowbrook Estate, a beautiful retreat and event venue nestled in the Connecticut countryside. My meditation and yoga practice has helped significantly with taming my monkey mind, and I feel that I have laser-focus now on things that need to be done (another byproduct of ADD is actually a laser-focus on things that interest you ) You will find that if you don’t empty that bucket, eventually even just the smallest stress drop will set that bucket to overflowing. Learning stress management techniques that have helped me to manage not only my own mental health, but helped me to deal with my loved ones mental health issues and attendant family stress.

Not to mention, I’d never dare speak this way to my friends, but I freely bashed my own body like it was my own job. I’ve come a long way since then, but even now as I grow into this postpartum body of mine, I still hear that inner critic from time to time: slightly judging myself for not being back to my pre-pregnancy weight or having jiggly thighs or not fitting in my old clothes.

Confession: I have a major fear of public speaking. In fact, I fear doing any type of video, lecture, podcast or anything where I’m being recorded
