A weekend at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar makes for a perfect quick luxury escape. At the very least, I would reserve two hours for the entire experience: 15-minutes to lounge pre-treatment, 1 hour and 15 minutes for the consultation plus facial, and another 15 to 30 minutes to relax after. I would recommend doing your spa treatment on a day where you spend the first few hours post-breakfast at the pool and schedule your spa treatment for early afternoon. The Fairmont Grand Del Mar. San Diego has always been one of our favorite places and this stay only enhanced it.
Known for its colorful, iconic decor, The Ivy is one of the most frequented spots in LA. Just from observation in the past few times, I’ve been there, I’ve noticed the wait can get pretty long, especially if you want to go during a popular time. You can expect lunch to be well over $100 for two, and closer to $150 if you’re going to have a cocktail. It’s also an excellent spot to kill time if you have to wait for your table!
I’m going to be doing a new series of weekly floral and interior inspiration, where I share some of my favorite Instagram photos. But that probably won’t happen until we move into our permanent home and out of our short-term rental. While we would love to live back in California, after considerations of both Los Angeles (where Skylar is from) and the Bay Area, we realized it just didn’t make sense. Realistic cost of living – Scottsdale is definitely a bit higher, but it’s beautiful, well planned/developed, and more of a luxury area, so even though the cost was higher, we felt it was fair for what we were getting. Our buyers wanted to close on June 25th, but we knew we wouldn’t have enough time to pack up the house. We purged a lot, and got rid of a lot of unnecessary things, and left with our belongings on June 30th, and arrived in Scottsdale in July 1st after a quick stop in Las Vegas overnight.
