When we moved to Oregon, with us being so close to nature (no, seriously, our neighbors are deer 🦌 ), I wanted to make sure Boomer stayed both happy and SAFE. This is why I am using the @serestous collar for 8 months of continuous protection during the months he needs them. Once the collar goes on, it kills and repels fleas and ticks through contact, not just after biting! I really let Boomer down 😓 A few weeks back, we left Boomer with what we thought was a trusted sitter for the first time in a long time. We even had her come stay at our place so it would be much easier. Over the course of the stay we realized she was walking Boomer 12 mins TOTAL in a day, she left him alone during the July 4th fireworks and we came back to him to crying in pain with a HUGE hot spot in his groin - he couldn’t even sit or lay down and we rushed him to the vet. We briefly enquired with her about how she could have missed that he was in so much pain and she immediately got defensive so we just let it go and focused on Boomer’s health and moving on from it. We thought that was the end of it but we saw then that she gave us a whole nasty review online. From first saying we are social media influencers whose entire life is their dog and that we treat him like a human child (what’s wrong with this?) to then going off on multiple rants not based on facts to ending with saying she was glad Boomer “had a week off from us wh*ring him out”. I’m so heartbroken that we let someone like this into our house and feel like I failed Boomer big time but I’m just glad she kept him alive and mostly safe. I’m also so crushed that that’s what some people instantly go to when they think we have a social media presence (I also don’t know how she found out unless she went snooping into rooms that were closed). I’m not sure where to go from here next but one thing is for sure, if I ever have to leave Boomer again, I’ll have to do much better ❤️‍🩹

Happy gotcha day to my sweetest little Boomsie, thank you for coming in our lives in such an unexpected way after the family you were meant to go to couldn’t have you anymore - we were meant to be 🥹🩷 Thank you for teaching me to live my life more in the present, to appreciate the little things, thank you for the countless times you have stayed by my side from in malls to airports to train stations through the panic attacks, thank you for laying by my side as I cried for hours on the floor, thank you for giving me taps to know you are there when I’m dissociating or very anxious, thank you for showing me how to run wild and free and how to be happy. I may *need* you less and less as I continue to feel better, but you made me get to a place I never thought I would.
