The masonry/ structural temples started during the time of Pallava kings and co-existed with the rock-cut temples, but by the time the dynasty ended, rock/temples were already a thing of the past. The temple opens to visitors at 6am and I would recommend starting your Mahabalipuram right at this temple. Even though the Shore Temple is the most famous landmark of Mahabalipuram, I think I am split between the shore temple and the Panch Ratha when it comes to picking my personal favourite. The temple is full of many beautiful sculptures, but the one that stands out the most is the one of reclining Shiva (image below).freeThe lighthouse is located on the same hill which has many of the protected Pallava era sites, but it’s newly built.
It’s believed that Kathmandu valley started its journey to glory and prominence right from this point -also commonly known as the monkey temple of Kathmandu. The place is also full of monkeys, and that’s the reason it’s also often called the Monkey Stupa. The easy route, also the one I took, requires you to drive almost all the way up to a parking lot and then within ten minutes of easy walking you are at the stupa. A few places don’t allow pictures to be taken and it’s a good practice to respect that.there are toilets near the stupa and they are relatively clean.
The fort is believed to have been built by the Yaduvanshi Rajputs, who claim descent from Lord Krishna. Later Mughals also ruled here, and eventually the fort came back under the Rajputs and saw it's golden period. Here's how the property looks like :)This would come out as an embarrassment, but I knew absolutely nothing about Alwar but it's name. Though most recent history of the city dates back to the 15th century, it's origins are believed to be much older - in fact
We were eating lunch at Jungfrau when Shivya mentioned the name of the town; my eyes lit up immediately because I had seen some insane pictures of the Cliff Walk there on Instagram. Of course, there is more to the man-nature conflict across the world, but let me just feel the contentment that comes with this hard-to-find harmony.as I mentioned earlier, the best and the fastest way to reach up is by a aerial gondola. It’s self service kind of food place - so pick your food, pay for it and then enjoy it out on the sunny of(I am a huge fan of warm spicy red wines) on a sunny cold terrace, but eating lunch here would be a great experience too.believe it or not, there is actually a guest house right on top at the end of the cliff walk.
