She got into this field because she wants to provide excellent medical care to women of color who have similar issues. Ruth has dedicated her life to women’s empowerment by ensuring that every woman’s health is optimized so that they can be a career queen, boss lady, super momma, excellent partner and fabulous bestie! Black women are more likely to suffer from women’s health problems. What advice do you have for women who want to pursue a career in medicine?
She has been teaching thousands of people all over the world college -level neuroscience from her bedroom! She fell in love with science at the tender age of three and she shared her nascent career journey with LFE : I have two goals, first I would like to help to innovate stem cell research in hopes of helping people with neural disorders on a cellular level. What advice do you have for young people who are interested in neuroscience?
After being introduced to shea oil myself and witnessing the amazing results it was providing for my daughter’s skin, my husband’s skin and my own skin, the idea for R&R Luxury was born as I wanted to share the ‘Liquid Gold’ with everyone! Once you’re at a stage where you need to move to the next step and no longer have the financial means to make that happen, then it’s a great idea to go to investors or banks, as you will already have the experience with running and financing your business. When R&R started out, our industry (luxury, branded, skincare made from Africa’s natural ingredients) did not exist in Nigeria and natural products were not as popular or in demand as they are now. Many people, especially within our primary market at the time (Nigeria), knew that they could purchase Shea Butter (one of our main ingredients) at the local market and so they weren’t drawn to R&R and our ‘modern’ Shea Oil at first.
Joanna Fabikun is contributing to the transformation of Nigeria’s real estate industry through her work at Eko Atlantic. She is passionate about empowering young women and has hosted several career development workshops to help young women thrive in their careers. Although not a new problem, one of the key challenges effecting the industry today would be the incessant building collapses traversing the country, it is encouraging to see the government see through their plan of safely pulling down at risk structures to prevent further loss of life, but we still have a long way to go. We have a long way to go with how women are treated regardless of industry and it’s a continuous challenge the most important thing we can do as women
