Mackinac Island: Simpler Times & Family Fun

Make sure to check out the Grand Hotel’s stables and the blacksmith at Surrey Hill. There are many opportunities to enjoy Michigan’s first state park. If you are a beer fan, try Mary’s Bistro Draught House – by far the largest selection of beer on the Island, complete with live music. Whether you want to cruise through the state park on a bike, enjoy a carriage ride through town or just sip a beer while enjoying a view, Mackinac Island has you covered.

Grand Rapids: Outdoor Adventures in Beer City

I recently had the opportunity to visit Grand Rapids, Michigan – a city and a state I had never visited. Cliche I know, but really, I could definitely imagine spending weeks in Michigan and still only scratching the surface of fun things to experience. Grand Rapids, the second largest city in Michigan and nicknamed “Beer City,” quickly won over my heart. The kayak trip was great with minimal paddling so all we had to do was enjoy the natural scenery and the Grand Rapids skyline slowly getting closer and closer.

Wyndham Austin: A Texan’s Welcome to Austin

The best music is always live music, so you can’t go wrong with your choice! ACL Music Festival (Austin City Limits), SXSW (South by Southwest), Moontower Comedy Festival and Formula 1 are some of the more prominent festivals, but there are so many more! Eat your way through the Ice Cream Festival and party at the Urban Music Festival. Just south of town is Gruene, TX where you will need to eat at the Gristmill, go float the river in a tube (yes, this is thing and it is a wonderful thing), and end the night two stepping in Gruene Hall.

A Day Trip to Versailles: A Photographic Stroll

The Palace of Versailles is easily the most opulent building in Europe!  What started as a hunting lodge, quickly became an extravagant home for the French royalty. The palace and its beautiful grounds are now owned by the people of France
