Anyone still here?

Glad that it’s  Summer and that means next up, it’s Christmas. At the end of January, B’s dad was very sick and it was unfortunately the beginning of a long stint in ICU. He finally got to come home right in time for A’s 1st Birthday Party! We had A’s First Birthday Party and it was so much fun.

Mic Cheeeeck

I went to a super cute stocking making party hosted by Shea, ran a 5K on Thanksgiving, celebrated B’s Birthday, Thanksgiving and in the beginning of December It’s true what they say, Christmas through a child’s eyes is amazing, even if your kids don’t even know what the heck is going on. After last year’s mileage, I’m looking to up my mileage a little bit more this year and hopefully sign up for a race around Alyssa’s 1 year birthday. I’ve gotten better about running during the day, in the evenings and even 2 hours after I wake up, which isn’t ideal for me, but it’s better than nothing.

Where has the motivattttion gone?

Took a break, recharged and didn’t push myself to run when I didn’t feel like it. It helped me feel much better over the last two weeks, but that also was another reason running wasn’t happening. The month flew by with a lot going on and now I’m finally feeling ready to start back up again. I didn’t have a race on my calendar because there is nothing more stressful than having to train for something when you don’t have the motivation.

August Mileage Recap

I hit 50 miles for the month and also ran a solid 7 miler toward the end of the month. I haven’t hit 50 miles in a month since January of 2015 and and my last high mileage month before that was August of 2014! Finally hitting 50 miles for the month really boosted my confidence for the future and getting back to a schedule. I want to definitely keep the goal of 50 miles a month right now and possibly start doing a ‘longer run’ for one of those runs, like the 7 miler I did this month to keep increasing my mileage slowly and safely.
