I design custom wedding invitations and day of stationery and signage. I began designing wedding invitation packages after graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2008. My design process takes about 2 weeks, though I keep all my couples in my head so the process begins internally far before I actually start designing. Once the initial design process is done, it usually takes 2-3 weeks to finalize and another 2-3 weeks to produce the invitations.
Our designers used a mix of greens – seeded eucalyptus, true blue eucalyptsu and agonis – as the base and to create interest. Smaller blooms and accents like the scabiosa, amaranthus, privet berry and astrantia fill in the bouquest and offer different textures. Instead of the more traditional ranunculus or spray rose boutonniere, we selected the smaller interesting accents from the bridal bouquet and made truly unique, interesting bouts. We choose the amaranthus, astrantia, privet berry and seeded eucalyptus and used a mustard velvet ribbon to finish the look.
You will also find that other vendors often have more availability on Sundays as well, so you can book that fantastic photographer or the bakery you love with a lot shorter lead time. This is a great way for out of town guests to see the best of your city, as we all know Saturday have the most selection of entertainment and cultural options. We’ve has several clients do Sunday brunch weddings which is a unique option… think bloody mary bar, a barista station, maybe a string quartet. These savings can allow you to spend a bit more on fantastic floral, stunning details like cut glass water goblets and farm chairs or wine service during dinner.
