If a beautiful, luxury hotel, for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Machu Picchu is what you seek, be sure to consider the Hotel Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo. Other than Machu Picchu itself (clearly hard to compete with), this very special Aguas Calientes hotel was one of the most memorable parts of our family trip to Peru. even have a discussion about Peru without someone saying “Remember that amazing hotel?” Tucked into the mountainside on the edge of town, the Inkaterra Machu Picchu Hotel is a very quiet and serene property. Returning to the hotel, guests can enjoy a relaxing visit to the pool, a soak in the hot tub or book a massage at the beautiful Una Spa.

When a Norway trip had us routing through London’s Gatwick Airport, we decided to tack on a few extra days to enjoy a little family holiday in South Wales as well. Until visiting, I really had a hard time getting my head around how large Brecon Beacons National Park actually is. The National Showcaves Centre for Wales clearly targets families with young children (10 and under) and to be perfectly fair, I know that my kids at 5 and 8 would have loved the experience. Families visiting Wales with children of all ages may be interested in visiting the Red Kite Feeding Station in Brecon Beacons (daily afternoon feedings, cash only).

When packing for Galapagos travel you will want to make sure that you have brought along the right camera equipment and accessories for both land and under-water photography. Quick-Dry Travel Clothing – Bring clothing made ideally of lightweight quick-dry synthetic fabrics, lightweight cotton, or linen (including quick dry socks). We purchased Teva sandals which were pretty good for hopping in and out of dinghies and onto islands (wet landings), but perhaps the most sensible shoes are closed-toe waterproof hiking sandals because they are better for walking on sharp lava rock. She has the full brim lightweight nylon hat, the long sleeve shirt with venting, quick dry pants, closed-toe hiking sandals and what I think is a waterproof backpack.
