Always and forever, granddaughter of Italian immigrants, consummate style fashionista and foodie, I find beauty in a simple meal, a destination, architecture, fashion and spaces –just to name a few. Perhaps my grandparents passed on the travel “gene” to me during their voyage to America in the 1930’s.
Contemporaneously, I find that my travels have given me a front seat to the simple beauty found in the countryside of Tuscany, the arrondissements of Paris, Gaudi’s cathedral in Barcelona, and the list goes on and on. Travel is education. I believe it reveals an intellectual curiousity, that begs for more. As a curious soul, destinations, people, culture, architecture, markets, and ethnic foods speak to me. The more I explore, the more I yearn to do so.
As a Director of Human Capital for many years, I am now taking the knowledge, wisdom and lessons learned (aka transferrable skills) to my next journey, travel liaison. Always having a destination on my calendar, excites my soul. Travel nourishes the mind, body and soul. Join me-no age limit!
“Travel isn’t always pretty, it is not always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts. But that ‘s okay. The journey changes you. It should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.” – Anthony Bourdain
Alpacas in our backyard! On a quest for warmth, quality fibers and weightlessness, I found #nodrogfarms in #barrington #newhampshire Alpacas do not have to be harmed to be profitable. It is adapted to the green environment, as it is sustainable, natural and renewable. A huge thank you to #Nodrogfarms and #gordonlong for raising these farm animals and providing sustainable textiles to us. #nodrogfarms #alpaca #naturalfibers #farmanimals #southamerica #northamerica #europe #gentle #naturalcolors #alpacasofinstagram
For me, visiting Cape Town and Kruger National Park (outside of Hoedspruit, Limpopo, South Africa) made me realize how insignificant I am on the world stage. Until you’ve listened to a former political prisoner speak to you while touring Robben Island – until you walk the streets of Cape Town knowing that approximately 22 years ago the government was apartheid – until you spend five days in the bush – a visitor in the animal kingdom ’s backyard – until you land in Hoedspruit, Limpopo, South Africa and get your luggage faster than anywhere else in all of the world’s airports? Until you realize that all is not perfect in Cape Town, in Pretoria or Soweto – nor anywhere else in the world – until you really understand the heartbreaking lessons of hatred and racism that took place on Robben Island – and why it resonates with human beings from all over the globe – the lessons learned from our time spent listening to Sparks, a former political prisoner for seven years on the island, where cold winds were the political prisoners constant nightmare – where food was distributed according to the color of their skin and castration was along racial lines
Paso Robles, situated in San Luis Obispo county is beautiful country, with farm-to-table fare, a laid-back pace, and down-to-earth people, inviting you to pull up a chair and stay awhile. Getting there from LAX Driving North from Los Angeles (approximately 3.5 hours with a stop for lunch) to swirl, smell, sip and spit in Paso Robles, just take US 101 North. Our home-away-from-home while in Paso Robles was the Hotel Cheval Settle in and then call Kenny Clark, our driver/tour guide for the next three days. Accommodations in the Paso Robles area range from vineyard inns, resorts with all the amenities, a vintage trailer, or Hotel Cheval, a luxury boutique hotel.

Our West London “highlights” included: Westminister Abbey, Parliament Square, Tower of London, Statue of Millicent Faucet, the suffragist who fought for women’s right to vote, Thames River, Albert the Great Statue, Royal Albert Hall and Buckingham Castle. The Blakes Hotel was repurposed – not torn down, rather a set of Victorian townhouses that were repurposed into a neighborhood hotel – a charming hotel with an exterior that blended in perfectly with the residences. The team at the Blakes Hotel greeted us with a smile despite the early morning hour, welcomed us into the dining room and promised to have our rooms ready early – way before check-in time. The Blakes Hotel staff arranged a car service to take us to Heathrow for our journey to Cape Town, South Africa.
Table Mountain, geological and spiritual heart of the city. Table Mountain is at least six times older than the Himalayas, jewel of the peninsula, and to Nelson Mandela- it represented freedom. #capetownsouthafrica #tablemountainhike #capeanngranite #cablecars #wondersofnature #mountainofthesea #capetonians #capefloralkingdom #agamawalk #dassiewalk
