Fantasy Mini Reviews from Lockdown

In an astonishing turn of events, my school shut down on Friday the 13th for the second time this year (first in March and now in November), and though online school still takes up a large portion of my time, I’ve still been able to read a few books. Their hunt lures them far from Paris, and into the icy heart of Russia where crystalline ice animals stalk forgotten mansions, broken goddesses carry deadly secrets, and a string of unsolved murders makes the crew question whether an ancient myth is a myth after all. On the bright side, Roshani Chokshi’s writing was a shining example of beautiful imagery as always, showcased against a magical wintry backdrop, and I did enjoy spending time with some of my favorite characters (especially sweet Laila and adorable Enrique). (From Goodreads) Warnings: rape of a child, date rape, overdose, death, suicide, self harm, forced eating of human waste, blackmail, violence/gore, murder, drowning, drug addiction, racist comment from a side character that wasn’t really addressed, sexual content

My Seventh (!!) Bullet Journal

I like to think my skills have improved a bit, and today I’ll be taking you all on a little tour of the spreads I set up to start off my new notebook! For the last page of my future log (I like to have planning space for far in advance), I split the page into two boxes, one for the later months of 2021 and one for 2022. This time, I decided to incorporate a color code based on whether the book is one I own physically, a book on my Kindle, or a book owned by a family member. Here’s where I’ve been keeping track of books I’ve read.

Bullet Journal Setup for December 2020

On a whim, I came up with this kinda chill, purple-y, nighttime theme, eschewing the traditional holiday-themed spreads that I’ve done a few times at this point. I’m not sure what to name this theme exactly, but I hope you enjoy looking at these spreads as much as I enjoyed making them! This post contains affiliate links for Amazon, meaning that I will earn a commission if you click through and end up buying something, at no extra cost to you. I carried the color scheme into my monthly spread, which has a newly-formatted goals section that I’m fairly excited to test out, despite its simplicity.
