Ten Years

It’s crazy how much life can change in ten years and I wouldn’t change a minute of it. While this wasn’t Derek’s official blog debut (technically we had reconnected back in November at an FSU homecoming game) There’s something about being naked around a few hundred strangers that doesn’t bother me as much as being naked with anyone I know in real life. It’s funny how at the time every little detail feels so important, and we’re all so deep into the unreality of wedding blogs that we forget it’s really not.

Another Run Happy Weekend

So while I consider myself part of the Brooks family since 2009, it was actually 2012 when I received the email of lifetime from my now-friend Rachel inviting me to join the Brooks Running Run Happy Ambassador team. This weekend we were invited back to Brooks HQ in Seattle, where the goal of the weekend was to tour HQ, learn a little bit about their upcoming Fall 2018 line, and celebrate the amazing athletes of the Special Olympics USA Games – of which, Brooks is a proud supporter and sponsor. Brooks will donate $10 per purchase of limited edition USA Games Ghost 10 and $5 per USA Games apparel and accessories, up to $50,000, until July 31, 2018. Thank you Brooks Running and my Run Happy Ambassador family for an awesome weekend.

Flying High

Hello from 30,000 ft in the air! I’m on my way to Brooks HQ for our annual Brooks Run Happy Ambassador trip! (#sponsoredtravel) This my 7th year working with Brooks and it’s been a honor from day 1. This year’s theme is extra special as we’ll be cheering on the athletes at the Special Olympics USA Games in Seattle

The Big Move

We spent the last night in our old house on an air mattress, and I squeezed one last run in around the old neighborhood. I discovered the gray tones I had tested at our old house were way to blue in the new place and that a warmer beige-y gray was the way to go. We chose Agreeable Gray by Sherwin Williams for the kitchen and main living area of the house, we also ended up painting Annalynn’s room and the master bedroom the color as well. Wood tile was pretty much used in every model home we toured when we thought we would be going the new-build route and every contractor and flooring store we spoke to were also very familiar with exactly what we wanted.
