Rainbow and #StopAsianHate Day of Action

because it’s not very open in our neighborhood, we just had this view: Today I’m taking part in a Day of Action to #StopAsianHate. On March 26, 1790, the Naturalization Act was signed into law, prohibiting non-white people from becoming citizens of the United States. Technically it starts tomorrow night, but because of the sabbath leading straight into the first night, we have to be Passover ready by tonight. The boys are on spring break and Gabbie is busy all week with school and dance!

March Monthly Musings

We have a special meal called a seder, which consists of reading from a book about the exodus from Egypt and eating certain foods in honor of the holiday, such as a vegetable to represent spring, a mix of apples and wine to represent the bricks the Jewish slaves built with, and matzah, to remember the unleavened bread that the Jewish people brought when they left Egypt. It’s usually the weekend of Mother’s Day. For the past few years, Gabbie has also had dance competitions on Mother’s Day, so I guess that is a tradition too! My boys don’t really do sports (Simon played soccer this year but that’s in the fall) and my activities don’t change for spring time other than getting outside more!
