Howdy! We are the travelers and content creators of Life Without A Roadmap. Together, we take our love of road trips, beaches, SCUBA diving, and this big blue orb we call Earth and share it with our followers. Whether it's a short road trip where we find hidden gems or a week abroad exploring above and below the waves, we take our readers on the journey with us and inspire them to get out and explore!
WHY ARE WE DIFFERENT?
We are what you would call a Texafornian couple! Being that Charlie is from Texas and Lynnette from California, we definitely have 2 very different views on many things. One thing that we agree on is travel should be fun and, at times, adventurous. We both also have a bit of a humorous side and that humor comes across in our writing. We are not afraid to share our more embarassing moments if it means it will be helpful or bring a smile to the reader.
OUR CONTENT
Our content is all about not only the expected in travel like tourist attractions and what travelers expect to see but also what they don't. We like to venture off the roadmap and find the out-of-the-ordinary destinations like a historical cotton gin, forgotten town, or museum that may be less known but still very interesting.
We also share our love of the ocean through our travels to beach destinations and SCUBA diving to hopefully inspire others to travel beneath the waves. Through our love of the ocean, we hope to inspire others to better understand and appreciate the aquatic world and the impacat and importance it plays in our world.
Happy Cinco de Mayo! 🇲🇽 Nothing says celebrate to me like Tequila. When we were in Cozumel, we got to spend some time sampling Tequila at different aging stages with a great group at Tequilera Reyes. It was so interesting to learn how it is actually made and its history. That's something we love to do when visiting new countries. Talk to the locals, learn their culture and customs, and then share what we have learned.
Who doesn't love an old bridge? The Old Vicksburg Bridge stretches over 8400 feet from Vicksburg, Mississippi to Delta, Lousiana. Once open to both vehicle and railroad traffic, it is now only used by the railroad. I can't imagine how scary it would have been to drive alongside a moving train on such a narrow bridge. Would you drive on such a narrow bridge with rail traffic too? #visitvicksburg #visitmississippi #visitmississippidelta #seetheusa #roadtrippin #roadtripusa #travel_awesome #bridges_of_our_world #bridges_of_instagram #bridges_aroundtheworld #texasblogger #txblogger #txbloggers #lovetotravel #seetheusa #

Texas has some of the most beautiful historic courthouses. This is the Grimes County Courthouse in Anderson. Built in 1894, it is the 5th courthouse the county has built. The previous 4 all burnt down. The building has 4 distinct brick colors because bricks salvaged from three of the previous buildings were used in it's construction. As the story is told, the fourth color of brick was a result of the bricklayer being impatient and not wanting to wait for a wagonload of brick to be delivered so he went around town and gathered up bricks to use until the delivery arrived. For as long as people can remember, the locals would gather at the courthouse to "party" on election day. The clerk would hang two large tally boards outside and as the election results come in, they are posted. I'm thinking I should go to the Grimes County Courthouse this coming election day and check out the celebration!
Have you ever wondered what it was like to travel by train "back in the day"? I have always had a fascination with train travel and hope to take a trip on an old steam engine someday. Until then, I got a bit of my fix in at the Rosenberg Railroad Museum in Rosenberg, Texas. Filled with railroad artifacts and loaded with history, the museum is also home to an antique railcar called the "Quebec" that was once used by Canadian officials. Completely restored, it was fun to walk through it and see how life on the rails was decades ago. It is just one of the fun things to do in Rosenberg, Texas. Read all about it on the blog - the link is in the bio!

@visitpikespeak may not look so high from this view but at 14,115 feet, it's the tallest peak in the southern front range of the Rockies. Known as "Americas Mountain", it stands prominently just outside of Colorado Springs. The drive to the summit is not for the faint of heart but the views along the way are breathtaking. My tips for anyone wanting to brave the drive to the summit: 🏞 Get an early start to avoid heavy traffic on the narrow switchbacks above the treeline. I went at 7:30 am. And by 9 a.m., traffic had increased quite a bit. 🏞 Give yourself plenty of time. It's not a drive you can take fast and with the beauty all around, why rush it? 🏞 Stop to enjoy the views on the way down. It's easier on your car. 🏞 If narrow roads or heights give you anxiety - DON'T TRY IT. The switchbacks above the treeline have few guardrails. #pikespeak #drivepikespeak #visitcolorado #visitcoloradosprings #visitcoloradospringscolorado #pikespeakcolorado #americasmountain
Y'all know I love a good mural. This one in the exercise room @scpcoloradosprings gave me the extra motivation to drive harder. They have amazing murals like these all over the property. Each with its own message or meaning but all in vibrant, energizing colors. Definitely will be staying there again. #visitcolorado #visitcoloradosprings #lovecolorado #rockymountainhigh #scpcoloradosprings #colorado #coloradosprings
We are always looking for the "less known" places to stay that are unique and fun. @scphotels in Colorado Springs is a fun, environmentally friendly, unique place to stay. SPC stands for Soul, Community, Planet and it is at the core of who they are. Each stay helps support three important charities. @wewellbeing, @miraclesforkids and @onetreeplanted Whether you are wanting to relax in the spacious rooms, hang out at the bar, unwind in the hot tub, or maybe take in a game if Jenga while making new friends in the fun lounge area, there is something for everyone. Oh, they are pet friendly too! #Colorado #visitcoloradosprings #visitcolorado #lovecolorado #rockymountainhigh #coloradogram #cololradosprings #coloradoinstagram #ilovecolorado #ilovecolorado❤️ #ilovecoloradosprings #travelingtheusa #travelers #visittherockies
Our world is like a patchwork quilt! It's made up of different colors, patterns, and sizes. All sewn together to make the place we call Earth. Every time I fly and look down at the patchwork of our world, I am reminded of this. #ourworld #loveeachother #seetheworld #patchworkworld #bekindtooneanother #flythefriendlyskies
