I became aware of this issue after watching 13th on Netflix, a documentary where scholars, activists and politicians analyze the criminalization of African Americans and the U.S. prison boom. I have done a lot of self reflection within the past week to acknowledge my own racism, my own privilege, and how I could help. I spent a week amplifying voices (and will continue to) that wouldn’t be heard otherwise, sharing information that wouldn’t be seen, and joining in on making a change for the better. a couple of years ago I didn’t make an effort to listen, learn, or find ways to help out.
So today I’m sharing 4 easy ways to boost your mood right from home. I love using makeup that is fair trade and uses more natural ingredients like this Matcha Mascara and Fair Trade Tinted Lip Balm by Erin’s Faces. Erin’s Faces Matcha Mascara is made with Organic Matcha (from Encha Organic Matcha, the gold standard of matcha), Beta Carotene, and plant based fibers to give your lashes strength and length. The Fair Trade Tinted Lip Balm in Blushed is such a beautiful color made with Organic Castor Seed Oil and Organic Beeswax to keep your lips hydrated.
BOTA is plant-based skincare line enhanced with CBD and made from non-GMO hemp grown right here in the United States through natural farming practices. BOTA offers a wide variety of skincare products all high quality and naturally derived ingredients that support healthy and radiant looking skin. It’s packed with shea butter, jojoba seed oil, and hemp extract to soothe and moisturize skin. On those days I use the Warming Muscle Melt Crème for my tired muscles which has cinnamon oil, shea butter and hemp extract to help you unwind and recover.
Only 1.5 hours from Bend, Oregon it’s the perfect destination for a day trip or a weekend road trip getaway. Be prepared to drive on a rough gravel road and be sure to drive slow because there’s a No Dust policy in place to preserve the surrounding landscape. You can just look up the location on Instagram and the famous photo of people walking on the wooden foot bridge through the beautiful rich red structures, that’s here. I love exploring places all over this beautiful country and plan to check off all 7 Wonders of Oregon in 2020!
