I was out and about yesterday feeling like a hot mess and my hair was wild, when I got the sweetest compliment from a young cashier. He said he loved my hair and that I looked like Merida from Brave. It was so sweet and endearing and totally made my day. Aren't we always are own worse critics? * * I haven't been on here much, I don't really stress about my curls, I straighten my hair whenever I want and my routine/products haven't really changed. I've gotten super laid back with my hair but still get lots of compliments even on my seemingly "worse" hair days. My work/home life is very busy and stressful enough, so I've taken "curl stress" out the equation! 7 years ago today I said yes to this amazing man, so incredibly happy and proud to call him my husband. Together for 11 years, married almost 6. Let's keep it real! Don't let the perfect images on social media make you feel bad about yourself. We are all a bit of a hot (but beautiful) mess sometimes but it takes a secure and confident person to be like, you know what, this is the REAL me, take it or leave it. 🤷‍♀️ The older I get, the less I care about how I look in public or what anyone thinks of me. I live in baseball caps when I'm doing regular stuff, very little makeup and I have to wear my glasses more regularly because my eyesight is slowly getting worse! Of course I love to get dressed up sometimes, but I don't live my life to impress. The opinions of others does not effect your life, so just LIVE it! Social media is all an illusion. I'd rather you be impressed by what is REAL; my heart, my mind, my kindness, and humility. More soul, less ego 💯
