The terrifying pandemic, the heartache I felt from missing my family, the utter fear I had in keeping Teddy safe, yet the incredible times too. Our magical, special and ridiculous bond through spending 24/7 together, the overwhelming love and the snuggly, snuggles cuddles. and I had very lovely dreams it would be published, become a bestseller and have the book sit pride of place in my house. It’s the most special time together, sitting and laughing for hours and hours.
Images kept popping into my mind from past adventures I had taken that last year alone; bustling and magical New York City, the stunning and idyllic Maldives in the middle of the glistening Indian Ocean, the incredible and hilarious days out in Florida, all the delicious paella I devoured in Spain and the incredible sights of Rome. Before I had Teddy life was very hectic, I was a Producer in the crazy world of Entertainment Television and would sometimes work 20 hour days in locations and studios all around the country catering to all the Celebrities needs. Being invited to review the magical Mary Poppins Afternoon Tea at the top of The Shard will forever be one of my favourite days out, which then led on to a press day at the stunning Aqua Shard for their brand new 2019 summer menu with some incredible bloggers. All I dream of is a safe and fun summer filled with delicious BBQs, paddling pools in the garden, visiting the farm, going to brunch with my girls, family hugs, date nights in ACTUAL restaurants, Teddy making proper friends, good health for everyone I care about and some normality.
To imagine the day Teddy and I are walking down Main Street with our Mickey Mouse Ears on makes me actually want to faint. And after a day of pure magic walking back to stay at the Gran Floridian Hotel that smells of hot cinnamon and gingerbread men would be the cherry on the cake. To repeat past holidays that I have loved and adored… to taste gelato on a buzzy Italian beach, to gaze in amazement at the magical and romantic sights in Paris, to sip hot chocolate in the famous Angelinas, to watch the paella I have just ordered in Barcelona sizzle and soar before I gobble it all up and to wander the snowy streets and Christmas Markets of Prague. To put on a floaty dress and wander through the streets of Positano, to have a sleepy ride in the sunshine through Venice, to pretend I am an A-Lister in Lake Como, walk along the pebbles and try and find some dragons in Croatia, wander the streets of Florence in search of Pizza, dine alfresco in Santorini and take a speed boat through the caves of Capri.
In this current climate it is more than likely that your other half, who didn’t push a human out, and got to watch you endure hell on earth, probably whilst stuffing their face with Haribo Starmix will be sent home… sent home to sleep. Whilst you my friend, will be struggling to walk, but are made to endure ANOTHER SLEEPLESS night, whilst dealing with a new screaming baby you have no idea how to hold, let alone change its poo explosions. f******* annoying when you spend four hours trying to get your new born to sleep, then five minutes later a screaming baby from the other side of the ward sets your little one off again. Friends who after knowing them for a few hours will know more about your labour and baby than a friend that you have had for twenty years.
