Elf Gets Organized-Day 11-Christmas Goes to the Dogs

Not only is it a great idea to get them something special for the holiday, it’s important to remember to bring them in from the cold. Don’t leave them outside if it’s a cold evening and don’t leave them in your car while shopping. Elf Gets Organized-Day 9-Label It

However, the holidays are a great time of year to start using a label maker. Labeling is great for kids and you can use it when you purge (check out Day 8 for more details) to label the remaining items. When spaces and containers are labeled, it’s easier to put things away where they belong. Instead of tossing an item into the closet, you are given a gentle reminder that the item you are putting away has a predetermined spot.

Elf Gets Organized-Day 8-Donate It!

Even if YOU practice a clutter free holiday, your relatives and friends might not get the memo. While you can gently remind friends and family that you don’t need things and that your kids would rather have a special memory with them, you’re going to end up with an influx of at least a few toys. Talk to them about those less fortunate, and what your child’s surplus toys might mean for a child who has none. If your child is having a hard time determining what to donate, ask them to fill a small box or laundry basket.
