Devon and I have worked from home since August when the school year began, which our kitten, Krieger (who we adopted in July) has greatly appreciated. So I want to make sure he doesn’t spend all day worked up or scared when we’re gone. One thing I’ve started doing, when Devon goes into work, is closing the office door for a couple hours at a time, so he can’t see/hear me. His cat bed is in our office (because he typically sleeps in the office while we’re working) but I think I’ll move that out to another room; maybe our bedroom; not sure.

I feel like he really does have this goal of helping us prepare for parenthood, he’s even started scratching at the bedroom door at 3am and waking us up. I’ve heard it’s good for oily/combo skin like mine and since I can’t find the primer and I think it’s coming back/maybe never fully went away, which is super annoying. All Walmarts seem to have them, I know they’re still kind of hit or miss at most grocery stores, but it seems like all the Walmarts, at least in Maryland, are carrying them now.
For the record: Teachers, school counselors, and even school administrators have little to no actual input on district decisions regarding the opening and closing of school, or the determination of whether schools are fully virtual, hybrid, or in person. /educator your appreciation (and, as a selfish plug, next week (February 1-5) is National School Counselor’s Week, so if you want to show your child’s counselor some love in one of these ways, none of us would be mad: Shout out on your personal page, or even find your school’s social media page or the district’s social media page. I know from perusing my district’s page and my husband’s district’s page, most of the comments there are full of anger and hate, but we do love seeing the positive comments here and there.
