Recently our gorgeous daughter, Miss Oz surprised me with tickets to the Australian Outback Spectacular Heartland Show here on the Gold Coast. The current show is called Heartland and focus’ on life in the Australian Outback – the good and the not so good. The venue that the Outback Spectacular is held in is purpose built and looks something like a huge wool-shed from the outside. The Australian Outback Spectacular – Heartland is a great show and a really enjoyable night out, so I would recommend it to visitors coming to the Gold Coast.
When we were given the itinerary for our leg of the Follow the Sun Relay, I realised that we would be able to take a little detour and visit a couple of Silo Art sites. What I didn’t realise is that we would find more without even trying

Many of you will know I love a wine (or two) and friends recommended that we check out the National Wine Centre. The National Wine Centre is all about showcasing Australian wine and is also somewhere that you can learn about the history of wine in Australia. Just a short walk from the Botanic Gardens you will find the Art Gallery of South Australia. The South Australian Museum is located between the Art Gallery and State Library.
