Looking to save some money in Wildwood this Labor Day weekend? Here's how to enjoy yourself on Wildwood's famous boardwalk and Morey's Piers while saving some money! First of all, if you're staying at a hotel or AirBnB in the Wildwoods, I recommend either walking or biking to the boardwalk, since parking in Wildwood can be expensive. However, if you're looking to take your car somewhere, parking AWAY from the boardwalk is probably going to be your best bet. You'll be more likely to find free or cheaper parking this way. Another good way to start your day off cheap is to either go grocery shopping and eat breakfast at your accommodation, but if you want to go out to breakfast, take a look at a menu (in person is probably best since not all of the menus you may find online are up to date) before deciding. Some places are cheaper than others. One of my favorites for breakfast is Olympic Flame @olympicflamerestaurant because they offer delicious freshly made breakfast for reasonable prices (I got 2 pancakes, eggs, and bacon for $8.99!). It is right across from Adventure Pier. If you're looking to head to one of Morey's Waterparks this weekend, book an AM (or PM!) special ticket. You'll have 3 hours of access to your chosen waterpark, which should be plenty of time unless it's super crowded, which is why I also recommend going in the morning when they open. Tickets for tomorrow morning for Raging Waters, for example, are $16 cheaper for an adult than general admission for the whole day. Whatever time you want to go, make sure to book in advance if you can - tickets get more expensive the closer you are to the date! Keep in mind that if you want to make use of a locker while you're there, you will have to pay to rent one. A small one at Raging Waters is $15, but you get $5 back when you return the key. This little hidden gem is Cape May Rotary Park on Lafayette Street in Cape May, right next to Washington Street Mall. It's such a beautiful place to relax - I would love to bring a puzzle book here and do that for a while 🥰 There are also free concerts held in this park!! Make sure you look online to find upcoming concert dates. The next one is Cheezy and the Crackers at 7PM on September 1st! While you're here, be sure to pay a visit to the Washington Street Mall. You can spend most of a day here with all the shops and restaurants to explore. One of my favorite places in the area to visit is the Cape May Peanut Butter Company; it's only a 2 minute walk from the mall. What's your favorite thing to do in Cape May? Let me know in the comments! ⬇️ #capemaynj #capemay #washingtonstreetmall #capemayrotarypark #capemaypeanutbutterco

Have you ever done a Behind the Scenes tour at an aquarium? Whether you are (or are aspiring to be) a marine biologist, an aquarium keeper, or even just someone who loves animals, I highly recommend the Behind the Scenes Tour at the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ. In this tour, you will see all sorts of rooms and laboratories where the aquarium staff work to keep their animals as healthy and happy as possible. You'll see a lab for testing the water, a medical room for treating sick, injured, or geriatric animals, quarantine for sick or overstocked animals, animal food storage, and more. You'll also venture to the top side of some of the shark, turtle, and ray tanks so you can see everything happening from almost a bird's-eye view. This encounter is not included with admission, but is reasonably priced at $29.99/person - less if you have at least a gold membership at the Adventure Aquarium. Make sure you wear closed-toed shoes! 📍@adventureaquarium 📷 @adventuregirltravel #camden #camdennj #adventureaquarium #camdenaquarium #aquarium #visitnewjersey

Have you ever fed a stingray? If this sounds up your alley, then definitely pay a visit to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ! Here in Zone B of the aquarium, you can not only touch a stingray, you can also feed them! Currently the price to do so is $5 (so make sure you bring cash!), and you'll get 2 halves of fish to feed your the stingrays. All you have to do is hold the fish between your pointer and middle fingers, and place your hand on the bottom of the tank so that the fish is protruding up where a stingray can eat it. Then wait for a stingray to come to you; their mouths are on the bottom of their bodies, so don't let go just yet. Once the stingray is over the top of your hand and the fish and you start to feel some suction, just let go of the fish and your stingray will have a delicious snack to enjoy! It's such a fun experience, whether you're doing this with captive stingrays or wild ones (I've fed stingrays before in Stingray City in Grand Cayman (with a proper guide!!) and it was one of the most incredible experiences I've had). If you want to give feeding stingrays a try, make sure you head to the Adventure Aquarium! Have you ever fed stingrays? If so, where was it, and what did you think of the experience? Let me know in the comments below! 📍@adventureaquarium 📷 @adventuregirltravel #adventureaquarium #adventureaquariumnj #adventureaquariumcamden #camdennj #camdenaquarium #feedstingrays

Planning your trip to Hersheypark in Pennsylvania this summer or fall? Here are some things you need to know before you go... 🍫 Make sure you download the Hersheypark app before you go! Through this app you can buy tickets, parking, add-ons, and more. There is also a map of the park that shows you the wait times for rides! 🍫 Speaking of parking, you can save some money by purchasing parking online in advance. It's $25 in person, but only $20 online (plus a convenience fee). 🍫 Hersheypark is very family friendly, but it also has some big rides that may not be suitable for younger or smaller riders. Make sure you measure the height of yourself and others in your party at the entrance or somewhere around the park so you know your category for the rides. In the app, you can filter the list of rides to match those in your party so you know what rides everyone can go on! 🍫 The all-day dining pass is a great add-on to get if you're spending the whole day at the park. You'll get one free meal every hour and a half (plus a side at some places); not all places in the park are part of this, but there are several options available to choose from. My boyfriend and I found that one pass was sufficient for the two of us for the whole day. 🍫 There are plenty of places all around the park where you can get food, water, and other drinks, and most places will give you a cup of water for free. Perfect for a hot day! I've been coming to Hersheypark for years - if you have any questions about the park just shoot me a DM or comment! POV: You have a day to spend in Wildwood, but it's raining... what do you do? One of my favorite indoor places to go in Wildwood is Mudhen! Brewing Company. Today I treated myself to some of Mudhen's Happy Hour specials (Monday-Friday from 12-4PM), which include $3 Flagship Beers, $5 High Noon, $5 Wines, and my favorite: $7 CRUSHES!! (I got a lemon one and an orange one) They also offer $10 Appetizers (only certain ones) during Happy Hour, so I got pretzel sticks with beer cheese, because ever since I started coming here it's been one of my favorite meals. If you have a rainy or even a sunny day in Wildwood, swing by Mudhen for a good time - their food and drinks are awesome, and during the summer they often have live music at night! They also do all sorts of events year round. You'll see it on the left of Rio Grande Avenue after Park Blvd and Arctic Ave when you head over the bridge, so it's the perfect place to hit if you're just entering the island! 📍@mudhenbrew 📷 @adventuregirltravel #mudhen #mudhenbrewingcompany #wildwood #wildwoodnj #newjersey #jerseyshore

If you're in the Stone Harbor area (including if you visit the Wetlands Institute, as shown in my previous reel), you must stop by Springer's Homemade Ice Cream! Ice 🍦 They have so many different flavors to choose from, as well as cookie cones - a personal favorite of mine! I got the oreo cheesecake ice cream in an M&M cone, and my boyfriend Shane got Chocolate Overload in a chocolate cone. The ice cream is incredible, and while the chocolate cone was a little underwhelming, the cookie cones are absolutely delicious. I can't recommend this place enough - their ice cream is fantastic, and with so many delicious and unique flavors to choose from, you really can't go wrong. One of the places I missed the most during my trip to Spain was the Stone Harbor Wetlands Institute! We visited after hours, but if you do this you can still walk on the trail behind the main building and see all sorts of incredible birds, crabs, minnows, turtles, and other wildlife. Make sure to visit if you're in the area - it's well worth the short drive from the Wildwoods to get here! Just get on the Garden State Parkway going north, get off at exit 10, and turn right at the light. The Wetlands Institute will be on your right, before you get to the bridge to Stone Harbor. Make sure you abide by the speed limit, especially between May and August, when turtles could be crossing the roads! 🐢 📍@wetlandsinstitute 📷 @adventuregirltravel #ibrakeforturtles #brakeforturtles #stoneharbor #stoneharbornj #wetlandsinstitute #stoneharborwetlandsinstitute

Having just gotten back from my 2 and a half long week to Spain - including going to Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, and day trips to Toledo and Segovia, here are my best tips for your next trip to Spain... - Your food will come out when it's ready instead of all together, unless you specify otherwise - In restaurants, waiters will generally not come over to you; you will have to flag them down if you need something. - Meal times generally vary depending on the city, but breakfast tends to be from 8-10, lunch tends to be anywhere from 1-3, and dinner anywhere from 7-11. Spaniards eat late! Do some research on mealtimes regarding your specific destinations. - Many places close for Siesta (time varies based on where you are, but it's usually about 2 hours anywhere from around 2-6PM). Definitely keep this in mind, especially if you're having a travel day! - If you eat outside, homeless people or salesmen will likely come up to you and try to get you to give them money. - People smoke a lot of cigarettes, so keep this in mind if you're eating outside. - Pack an adapter for charging electronics that's appropriate for Spain - If you're not good at parallel parking, don't speak Spanish (can't read street signs), or aren't comfortable with crazy driving, I wouldn't recommend renting a car (particularly if you're in a city) - People drive like crazy here, so be careful walking, especially down alleyways or crossing the street. Additionally, many places where cars can go don't LOOK like places that cars can go, so keep an eye out for vehicles no matter where you are! - Keep your passport on you at all times, especially when traveling (as per Spanish law) - Inter-city trains are very nice; fast, reasonably priced, and comfortable - If you go to a Flamenco dance show, don't clap along - it can distract and/or throw off the performers. - Bring toilet paper and hand sanitizer/wipes with you - many public restrooms don't have either running water, soap, toilet paper, or all of the above. If you've ever heard of the architect Antoni Gaudí, you may have heard of the Park Güell in Barcelona, Spain. This park showcases a few houses and other architectural pieces by Gaudí, and even has several spots you can climb stairs to reach that exhibit incredible views of not only the city of Barcelona itself, but also some of Gaudí's other architectural works, such as the Sagrada Familia, which is an awe inspiring church with huge towers that has been in the process of being built since the 1800's (it is expected to be completed in 2026). Keep in mind that the stairs are plentiful, steep, and uneven, so definitely weigh your ability to scale these steps if you're considering a trip here. If you're less interested in architecture and natural phenomena are more your fancy, this huge park has so much flora and fauna available to see, including palm trees and wild parakeets. If you go to Spain, chances are you'll see lots of street performers - primarily musicians. During our trip, we saw everything from violinists to pianists, to even a flute player! Make sure if you take a picture or video of a street performer that you give them a Euro or two, or even some spare change. That way travelers and tourists alike can keep seeing these incredible performers, and hearing their wonderful music on the streets. We made sure to give each one at least a Euro! What instrument would you love to see being played by a street performer? Let me know in the comments down below! . . . . . #spain #madrid #valencia #barcelona #streetperformer #streetperformance

Things you NEED to know about Valencia, Spain!! ~~~ 💦 The tap water tastes like chlorine, so I recommend buying water for wherever you're staying, and make sure you ask for "agua sin gas" (water without carbonation) if you want regular water at a restaurant! Note that the bottles of water may be larger than you'd think, so try asking for one bottle of water for every 2 people in your group. 🍹 Definitely try the cassalla (an anise-flavored alcoholic drink) - it's a thing here! 🍷 If you're looking for a local wine or another local drink or food recommendation, ask for "cerveza de Valencia" or "vino de Valencia" (both "from Valencia"). 🛏 Siesta (a break during the hottest part of the day) is taken far more seriously here - expect basically everywhere to be closed from about 2PM-5PM. However, some shops close at 2PM and don't reopen until the following day. Always check the hours, but note that they may not be accurate; if you want to get food or drinks during Siesta, it's better to just walk around and see what's open. You can usually find places that offer drinks and cold tapas (kind of like Spanish appetizers/snacks) during Siesta. 👙 Be prepared to see topless women at the beach. 🚎 The bus system is very good for transport; however, the metro subway has limited routes. Additionally, Uber doesn't seem to be reliable. FreeNow and Cabify seem to be a better alternative. 🏖 The beaches are beautiful and the water is warm; make sure you get to a beach when you have your trip! ~~~ Save this post for your next trip to Valencia, and follow for more informative travel content!

Why you SHOULDN'T go to the Oceanogràfic Aquarium in Valencia... Just kidding 😉 The Oceanogràfic is easily one of the most AMAZING aquariums I've ever been to! The animals are incredible, there's such a huge variety of animals, and there are even dolphin shows included with admission (the dolphins have health problems and are well cared for by their caretakers). The Oceanogràfic has so many different animals including birds, turtles, fish, dolphins, octopus, seals and sea lions, and even a beluga whale. If you go to Valencia, definitely head to the Oceanogràfic - the BIGGEST aquarium in Europe!
