When I talk eyewear capture rate with practices, I often hear the excuse of having a lot of contact lens patients as a big reason for their low eyewear capture rates. But here’s the reality: it’s not just about contacts. It’s about seizing the opportunity to provide sunglasses and backup eyewear to your contact lens wearers for comprehensive eyecare AND business growth. Here are a 5 ways to do this: 1. Package Deals: Offer discounted packages that include both contact lenses and sunglasses or backup glasses, encouraging patients to purchase both items together. 2. Loyalty Programs: Implement loyalty programs where contact lens patients can earn rewards or discounts towards sunglasses or backup glasses with each purchase of contact lenses. 3. Referral Incentives: Offer incentives for contact lens patients who refer friends or family members to your practice, such as discounts on sunglasses or backup glasses for both the referrer and the new patient. 4. Educational Materials: Provide informative brochures, videos, or blog posts in your practice and on your website that educate contact lens wearers about the importance of sunglasses for UV protection and backup glasses for emergencies or eye fatigue. 5. I don't go into my personal life very often because I prefer to keep my work life and my personal life separate, but this applies to both.
