I'm Annel, wife to Matt and mother to Anika (8 years old) and Reuben (3 years old). I love to travel, blog and write children's books. We're a South African Traveling family who's been full time traveling since June 2018. We love to slow travel our way around the world and work and school from wherever we are. Anika and I write children's books about animal characters with special needs as Anika herself is a wheelchair user, born with Spina Bifida. We aim to inspire other families with challenges to go out there and live life to the fullest.

I fell pregnant again with my second daughter, Esti, and immediately imagined her en-pointe on stage, but when I was 20 weeks pregnant, the doctor told us that she had a severe heart condition. A year ago, I wrote a post on Facebook, saying that I’ll never dance again, because Anika won’t be able to dance with me. I realized that Anika lives a full life – her spirit dances while Esti dances in heaven. I joined a group of amazing ladies for an adult ballet class and decided to keep on dancing until it doesn’t hurt anymore.
