A design blog about living a stylish life and transforming the so-so.
I’ve been carrying a circle bag lately and getting frequent inquiries of “where’d you get that?” The answer is, as so often is the case, Target. The one I have is almost gone from stores now, but similar styles have been popping up all over the place and at various price points
Cute stuff, useful stuff, things I just don’t have a spot for but still love! There is free street parking in the area and it is a 3rd floor walk-up, but we are working on gathering a team of volunteers to help carry the big stuff down for you. They are donating goods and prizes for a raffle, like a stay in a beautiful hotel, custom framing, gift cards ranging from $250-500, and more! We’re working to make this a great sale full of the kind of stuff you always hope to find when you hit thrift stores and garage sales, and then taking it up a notch (or ten) with the raffle.
I didn’t go to Target looking for new clothes, but how is one supposed to pass up a cute dress for less than $30 that perfectly coordinates with one’s living room? Just a couple of days later, I was on Instagram Stories talking about making room for our new Noble dresser from Young House Love (a gift from John and Sherry, celebrating the launch of their furniture line) and realized I had dressed to match my house again. That second match, I didn’t do on purpose; this one, I did. I can’t be the only one to dress like I decorate.
I want to make some changes outside and do a little refresh, and I’ve been noticing an animal trend in outdoor furniture and decor. There’s also a floral version and cute matching bistro table if you like the delicate lines and white finish but say no thank you to all of this animal business. I’m going to be honest, I came across the flamingo version of this chair first and thought nope, hard pass. I’m not about to put in the years and years of dedication to topiary to make a peeing dog, but as a little fake tucked into your garden?
