LUNCHED! Saw that @ginosfayetteville had a bad experience with a “food blogger” and wanted to restore faith that were out here trying to share great experiences that we have and not all trying to make a buck off of restaurants. And look, I get it, some people’s full time income stream is content creation and that they are creating content around food and restaurants in the area. But there’s a right and wrong way to approach partnering, collaborating, or selling your services and walking in and being demanding isn’t it. So I took my daughter for a quick lunch date since she has the week off of school and ended up on the Steak and Egg and Katrina upsold me into adding bacon (it wasn’t hard) and I added sautéed onions and steak sauce. Needless to say, I think I might have had all of the protein I needed for the day in this one meal. There were times when my jaw was cracking because I was opening so widely to take a bite out of this sandwich that was PACKED with the good stuff. The point of all this is that go support restaurants, eat good food, and be a good person.
👋🏻👋🏻 Just stopping in quick to say we’re still here! Travel sports seem to have taken over our lives with practices and games going 6-7 days a week and seemingly a new city to venture to every weekend. Eating at restaurants has been a challenge to schedule, to say the least, and finding the headspace to pick up the camera to document has been equally challenging. Maybe food content will continue, maybe we’ll pivot to being more family focused on here, or maybe the future holds something different. Thanks, as always, to you for popping by our corner of the internet whether you’ve been here for the whole journey, you’re new, or you come and go. We appreciate all of you for the opportunities that have come our way because you enjoy what we’ve done.
One of my favorite 1-2 lunch combos down at @thesaltcitymarket. The Marco Polo báhn mí from @mammahaisyracuse and an original cocktail from @saltcitybar. I really love the variety the market has to offer and, while I have my favorites, it’s always great to be able to go from stall to stall and check out new menu items.
The straight-up BEST appetizer I’ve had in the last two years or as long as I can think back! This brûléed whipped goat cheese with nectarines from @amanosyracuse was out of this universe. A fantastic balance between savory and sweet in the goat cheese and fruit, smooth and crunchy textures with the whip, sugar, and the toasts, made for the most enjoyable start to a wonderful experience at one of our favorites in Downtown Syracuse.

My fav. was definitely the Birria, but they’re also bringing Chicken Riggie, Summer Cuse, Bit of a Pickle (my fav from last year), Caramel Apple, and a crazy Cannoli pizza stuffed with cannoli cream and topped with crushed cannoli shells, chocolate sauce, and powdered sugar! Go to spot for coffee and remote work? I know that I'm not a big coffee drinker, I probably only have 1 a year in an attempt to try and like it, but I do like to go to @saltcitycoffee and see if they can whip up something for me that could start to change my mind.
