Hey Welcome! This blog is an honest attempt to combine my admiration for beauty/fashion and my love for sharing experiences.I hope you like it!:)
I know that we all have our own ‘can’t survive without these’ list and that is exactly why Eba (Emmaly, Barbara, Ashley) decided to design a super functional tote that appeals to everybody from new moms to travel lovers to working professionals. Emmaly is also very excited to use more weaved materials that are recycled and organic, making future lines feature only sustainable materials. Emmaly’s goal is to make each new production of EBA totes more sustainable and zero waste, while highlighting new exciting materials that are innovative, sustainable, and vegan. It was founded at the time when words such as conscious consumerism, ethical fashion, fair trade etc weren’t the buzz terms they’re today. So, as a new start up their main aim was to create a consumer-driven ethical fashion movement, by creating a fair-trade clothing brand that people love and relate to. // They’re also 100% fair trade certified which means they use fair trade certified cotton and also work with factories that employ fair labour practices. // No Nasties works with Rajlakshmi mills based in Kolkata- a fair trade certified factory that employs strict labour laws and use of ethical and sustainable standards like no price exploitation, no child labour, no discrimination and no wage disparity between men and women.
#whomademyclothes aims at making brands accountable about their factories by pushing them to learn more about the people who actually make their clothes and take up responsibility to ensure they’re being treated fairly. because fashion is more than just trendy clothes, it’s not the price tag or the high profit margins, it’s about the men & women who dye, weave and sew our clothes. This week as we join the campaign and ask brands #whomademyclothes, let’s take a look at fashion forward box that is accompanied by the story of each person who made it, offering a small glimpse into their lives and their skills. It’s the first ever fair trade gum and contains no artificial flavors or ingredients, isn’t that amazing?
So, I may have let out a small squeal of excitement on finding Passion Lilie – a fair trade and eco-friendly clothing brand from the magical city of south, New Orleans with an apparel/fabric production unit situated in Bangalore and Andhra Pradesh! Passion Lilie is a fair trade and sustainable clothing brand founded by Katie Schmidt, that aims at empowering artisans across the world, by creating dignified employment opportunities, that support inclusive growth-for a better tomorrow! Katie Schmidt, the founder and designer (literally the everything of PL) had an aha moment when she visited a small village in Bhopal, India and witnessed the struggles of artisans first hand. After witnessing the many benefits of fair trade, Katie decided to create her own women’s fair trade clothing line.
