During my visit to Bogota, I did a four-day tour with the folks from Neotropic Expeditions, a tour operator who handled all of our logistics and provided an exciting adventure trip. The next day we headed back toward Bogota where we took a Cable Car up into the mountains outside the city center. Bogotá is Colombia’s high-altitude capital, it’s a vibrant and diverse city; a bustling metropolis that is a mix of old and new, trendy and traditional. During our bike ride we stopped by some of the cities landmarks, such as the Parque Nacional, the La Macarena bullring and Bogota’s Gold Museum, a must visit sight with an incredible collection of more than 34.000 pieces of authentic pre-Columbian gold.

In this article I feature my top-10 favorite Czech Republic road trip destinations, including distances from Prague, as well as hotel, restaurant and activity suggestions. This central European country is not very large, as a matter of fact, most of these Czech Republic road trip suggestions are just around a 2 hour drive from the capital city of Prague (with exception to Ostrava, which is the furthest at around 3.5 hours). While the Czech Republic is know for the aforementioned, you’ll also find some remarkable lodging options, world-class restaurants, outstanding hiking and outdoor actives, incredible architecture, fantastic festivals, and, you can even find its cultural heritage alive and well in some of the rural parts of the country. Brno is the Czech Republic’s 2nd largest city, and while it’s lesser known than Prague, it’s nearly as impressive.
So, if you are a history buff, you should go on a luxury road trip from Cape Town to Amakhala Game Reserve. Besides, spending a few days wining and dining in Cape Town, followed by a hike to Table Mountain. On your way back take a luxury cruise down the Mekong river with Rainforest Cruises and experience Laos and Vietnamese tradition and culture. Spend a night in Santa Barbara Mission, one of the most popular examples of modern art and history.
