On a mission to see the world, stopping only for puppies, chocolate and to take way too many photos! 📷 @PolarPro 📍#London
It’s been a while since I’ve posted from London, despite it being the place I’ve spent the most time recently! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However, I’ve just published a blog post about the most famous streets in London. Head to my stories or click the link in my bio to read it and let me know if you think I’ve missed any ☺️
It’s been rainy, windy and cold recently in London. Today the sun has come out but it’s still frosty and chilly. So I’m warming myself up by looking at photos from the summer with @megmacgreg. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ How many of you have been to Catalina Island? It’s such a beautiful oasis off the coast of LA and was a much needed respite from the city.
I took this photo the day before I left LA back in August but haven’t got round to sharing it. This was the best day I had in LA as I spent the morning photographing with @chereneo and the afternoon with @anunezphoto. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve also only recently launched an LA bucket list blog post. Check it out by following the link in my bio or search for wedreamoftravel.com ☺️
How has the first week of 2020 been for everyone? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I spent the first few days ill and barely moved from the sofa. Then the last few days I’ve been back at work. I’m lucky to currently have a temporary nannying job with an amazing family that I LOVE! But that also means I’ve had less time for photos and blogging. I’m curious... what do you do for work?
Happy new year! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To start the year, I'm sharing a shot from Adam's and my last adventure together in 2019... the Cotswolds. We spent a lovely few days exploring all the prettiest villages and put together a guide of our favourites (and those we weren't quite so impressed with!). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Check out the link in my bio or swipe up in my stories!
Today has been the first day I’ve had to spend without @weownthemoment. He’s gone back to Oregon to spend the holidays with his family, while I’m in the UK working and spending Christmas with my family. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So I’m looking through old photos of us! Despite spending some time apart over the next month, we’re continuing to work on the rebranding of our blog www.wedreamoftravel.com ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We’ve got all our content moved over to it and we’re working on the logo. If you’re wondering why we went with We Dream of Travel, there were a few reasons... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1. It was the most voted for here on IG! 2. It’s short and easy to remember 3. It’s emotive 4. We had an idea for a logo! 5. It’s inclusive for EVERYONE who dreams of travel! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’d love to know what you think of the new website (and if you find any errors as I’m sure a few are lingering!).
This castle-that’s-not-really-a-castle was one of the most surprising stops on our trips to Wales. While it’s a beautiful building and a recent movie set, it has a dark history. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Check out our new blog post (link in bio and stories) about our recent trip to Snowdonia! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👗 @jjshouseofficial Use the code SOPHIE for 10% off before Dec 30th!
I recently spent hours looking for a guide to Snowdonia photography locations in preparation for my first visit to North Wales. This landscape photography guide on the most beautiful region North Wales has to offer has been created to help inspire your next visit to Snowdonia national park. While some of the ones covered in this photography guide fall just outside the invisible boundaries of Snowdonia National Park, I have chosen to include them as I consider this just a technicality. On the edge of Snowdonia National Park is probably the most popular lake in Northern Wales for photography.
A good thing happened today and a bad thing happened today. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The good: The @femaletravelbloggers community is now open again and going forward I will be part of the admin team which I’m super excited about!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The bad: My US tourist visa was denied again (made the mistake of applying for a B2 tourist visa despite having a valid ESTA as I’d hoped to go for a longer trip than 3 months). This is particularly crap as it means I won’t get to spend Christmas with @weownthemoment and his family this year 😢 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And this is a completely unrelated photo from our recent trip to Wales because I think it’s really pretty!! ☺️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Dress by @jjshouseofficial. Use the code SOPHIE to get 10% off until Dec 30th ☺️
The Canon EOS SL2 is my general pick as the best camera for blogging and vlogging due to its high-quality imagery and low price point. Poor build quality for both camera body and “kit lenses” Though the Canon EOS series are good cameras for bloggers and beginners in general, my one major point of contention is the impressively poor build quality. The Sony Rx100 line changed the world of compact cameras, and the Sony Rx100 VI may legitimately be the best camera for travel bloggers. Still, if you are looking for professional quality blogging cameras at cell phone sizing, this truly is the best camera for travel blogging camera on the market.
One night’s accommodation is all you need to enjoy a self-drive Isle of Skye 2 day tour from Edinburgh! Fairy Glen Lunch / Early Dinner (many options) Stop 4: Eilean Donan Castle Return to Edinburgh The walk from the carpark to the most popular “falls” takes about 20-40 minutes each way depending on pace, so you will want to factor this in as you decide whether or not you would like to see Dunvegan Castle and what time you hope to be at Neist Point. The reason most of you are probably driving all this way for an Isle of Skye 2 day tour from Edinburgh is for this: sunrise at the Old Man of Storr!
Today is a very special day, it’s @weownthemoment’s birthday! So here’s a rare photo of us together!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Tomorrow we’re off to Wales for a few days with a friend and we’re hoping for some snow dusting on the mountains! It’s been fun being able to explore a bit more of the UK together ☺️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #weownthemoment
A little selfie from our time in Scotland at one of my favourite sunrise locations! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Unfortunately the light had started to fade by the time I’d got changed into the little red dress and got up here (drone remote in hand!). It was far too cold to wait so I snapped off what I could and hoped for the best. While I may have snapped this one off, the credit really goes to @weownthemoment for editing it for me and doing such a great job of bringing out the light that was still there. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Check out our latest blog post for the best road trip itinerary for Scotland!! 😉
We’ve finally published our blog post all about our @spaceshipsuk road trip around Scotland! Check out the link in my stories or in my bio. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We had such an incredible time in Scotland and this was one of my favourite locations. It was a tough hike for sunrise but it was totally worth it (swipe across for the sunrise view!). It was also made even better by our home on wheels waiting for us at the bottom, ready to cook up from breakfast and coffee! I am definitely converted to a motorhome lover!
